And beef for us as well today for lunch. A pilaf of farro, quinoa and diced veggies, a little au jus for the meat. Corn on the cob, our first for the season followed the beef.

Raspberry gelato, dollop of chocolate sauce and fresh berries was dessert.

Not sure if you are saying the same thing but Mortadella is a fully emulsified (Lean and most of the Fat) Farce same as Bologna with the remaining very pure blanched Fat Cubes folded in to the Mixture at the end.

I get you, but the additions of Peppercorns and/or Pistachios are fairly modern (delicious) Additions.

It does look perfect. Would that some resto around me would proffer same, instead of hummingbird eyebrows en croute, napped with a coulis of precious, seasonal dust bunnies culled from the far corners of our cave basement storage.

Mortadella redux, ricotta with pistachios and arugula sprouts, provolone, black olive barley baguette. Cracked spicy Sicilian olives on the side along with a romaine salad.

Ty, it’s a riff off a NYT sandwich where they use pistachio pesto. I usually don’t put provolone on it, just the ricotta. DH requested provolone rather than ricotta, so I added it to mine.

Spicy  beef patties from a semi local purveyor, I was in the nabe. 1 for now, I’ll freeze the rest.
Edit: I lied, couldn’t resist having one more :man_shrugging:t2:

Seafood paella (shrimp, mussels, clams, calamari) from a stall at the farmers market (Kensington, CA). I added some feta and avocado.

Lunch? Breakfast? Who knows what meal this was, served at 11am on our flight back

Chicken w/wild rice & overcooked veggies.

It didn’t totally suck, but it won’t win any culinary competitions, either.

Today’s lunch was a salami sandwich with provolone, lettuce, sliced tomato and a little dijon mustard served on slightly burnt toast and olives on the side.
