Lunch 2024

After a short visit to emerge to have xrays taken my toe is in fact broken. No walking for 6 weeks until my toe is healed. Note to self: watch where I’m going next time I’m vacuuming :upside_down_face: By the time I left the hospital it was 12:30ish so I stopped into a Middle Eastern bakery for a meat pie. I took one bus to get home and stopped at the bakery for lunch then the Chinese grocer to stock up on a few Asian ingredients I was getting low on as well as egg rolls and an egg tart as part of dinner tonight. Today’s meat pie that I had for lunch:

Oh, no! Sorry to hear about the broken toe :frowning:

Happens so easily, too. I stubbed mine in Philly, but I think I only sprained it. Hope you recover swiftly!

Six weeks! Hope it heals faster than that! Sending healing thoughts!

Sorry to hear about your broken toe, and I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery. I broke a bone in my foot (metatarsal) almost three months ago and I’m still not completely back to normal with regards to walking (I’m close…). As they say, hopefully your mileage may vary.

Ouch :persevere:, hope you recover quickly :crossed_fingers:t2:

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. You don’t realize how dependent you are on your feet until you can’t walk :frowning: I remember spraining an ankle once but I only had to stay off my feet gor a few days. Now I have to learn how to sit still for a few weeks :upside_down_face:

I can remember breaking a toe on the #∆%! leg of the ironing board once. I couldn’t work for about a month. I am always in wonder of the home generated physical injuries. Apparently getting out of bed can be dangerous! Heal quickly!

Escarole and white bean soup. Turkey stock I was gifted after thanksgiving. Can of cherry tomatoes and a parm rind because I had them.

Delish and warming — although I bet it’s warmer in Philly!

I had the last of the Scottish lox from Biederman’s on the last sesame bagel top… might have to swing by there next week for a refill :yum:

After shopping at the total zoo that was Wegmans today — WAIT, IT’S XMAS TOMORROW?? — for one of my clients who subsists on no-salt added canned carrots and sheep’s milk ice cream, as well as running a couple of personal errands I was positively starved when I got home. Half a massive KOS fried up together with some of Nueske’s fab bacon we along with the smoked duck breast for the holidays

Unfortunately, I lost one of the yolks before it even hit the pan, and I should’ve used a non-stick pan instead. It was a hot mess as you can see :scream:

It looks really good to me! And as long as it tastes good that’s all that counts.

Noice! My lunch was supposed to be the other half of the KOS, but the kitchen is busy and peeps are coming over at 6pm.

No lunch for the wicked.

I hope your recovery time is shorter. I fractured a metatarsal once; it was healed in 3 weeks. At least that’s what the X-ray said. Keeping my fingers crossed. Be careful!!

The doctor I spoke to in the hospital said it would take about six weeks for the break ro heal. I went to a grocery store on Sunday afternoon talking the bus straight there then straight back home again and to the pricey butcher this afternoon also taking the bus straight there and back. My toe still hurts but not as bad as when I first broke it. I plan on keeping my feet up the next few weeks.
