And today we had….risotto with sous vide lobster tails, chervil, chives and assorted other herbs. A salad of arugula and endive with vinaigrette. Dessert was a plum/raspberry double header, a plum raspberry tart and plum raspberry ice cream.

Wow
….I used the lobster shells to make a broth for the risotto…really good.
That’s a lot of nice-looking, very round food!
I’ll have what she’s having
Wow indeed! I want to be a lunch guest at your table
You would be more than welcomed at my table!
A pot of shchi— Russian cabbage soup. Has fresh and smoked meat and fresh cabbage and sauerkraut. So good!
And yesterday we had….lobster egg salad sandwiches and a mini blackberry tart , crème patisserie with a little passion fruit curd included.
One of my favorites when I can get it for lunch-poke! I don’t usually photo it. But today they had to pack it in bigger than usual containers, so you can see all the components. It’s rice and salad, spicy tuna and a tofu/sea bean/ tempeh salad.
wow, i need this in my life.
I absolutely loved it! I had some bacon to use up, so I used it for the sofrito along with the fat I skimmed from the stock.
reminds me somewhat of a soup i had in poland, kapuśniak.
Not much simpler or better. Sausage on the barbecue, tortilla chips/salsa and a brew or four.
Hiking after four beers at 6k ft altitude was a bit of a………challenge. The view made the effort worthwhile.
That looks so good, it’s making my mouth water. I love poke but there isn’t really a place that does it anywhere near me.
We have 2 locally. Only one is good. And we had a moment about a year ago when the good one decided they’d close so that the owners could enjoy life more. The plan was just to close it for good. At the 11th hour, one of their employees bought it and reopened it. I cannot express my joy
And yesterday we had…something special. Jumbo lump crabmeat from the Chesapeake brought to us by DD. Exceptionally delicious, huge pieces of crab, I usually make 6 crab cakes but made eight instead…so good! And dessert was a mini tart, pastry cream, figs and a drizzle of lavender honey.
Second lunch in bear country.
Boneless short ribs, marinated in teriyaki. Great with some Liguria focaccia. Grill master did a superb job. Short ribs were sourced from Costco, great flavor and tender. I see plenty more in our future.
Yogi ambled by our kitchen window after lunch, no more than 50 ft away. Exciting!
