Lodge 9 inch Mini Wok


I bought this pup 'cause it was on sale, and based on a discussion here…

Now I have only had this a few days, but during that time I did some tempura shrimp, jalapeno poppers, and falafel. The results have been impressive. It heats pretty quickly, and heat retention is amazing (better than my 9 inch Lodge skillet). I heat it on high 'till the oil approaches 350°F, add the food and turn it down to med-low and it stays pretty much a 350 for the duration of the fry.

But the best thing about it is its narrow bottom and sloped sides mean I can use way less oil than even my 9 inch skillet. I did 6-8oz portions to perfection in about a cup of oil (and there was still some room left). So if you’re like me and usually do food for one or two, this is a pretty bad boy.
