Coffee in Toronto

Less coffee this weekend!
A small drip coffee from Rachel’s near Davisville was $2.35.

My cardamom latte from Fika

Jimmy’s has a new sign about the price of their Americano at the Kensington location.

Haven’t had a cardamom latte in a while. Need to reacquaint myself.

I got a free one last week thanks to my loyalty card.

I also like the honey cardamom latte at Maha’s and the honey and cardamom latte at Arch Café on Augusta.

Yummm. Hoping to try FIKA’S sometime. They make it with cardamom bitters from cocktail emporium near by. And simple syrup. I asked because I want to try making my own. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I had a bottle of Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters, which Fika uses.

Maybe 2 years ago, the fellow working at the Cocktail Emporium on Queen W told me they no longer sold Scrappy’s. He sold me a cardamom syrup from France.

Fika is still using Scrappy’s, and it makes a much nicer cardamom latte.

I’m still trying to finish off that Cardamom syrup.

Looks like Cocktail Emporium has it in stock again, which is great.

Oooh pandan and purple sweet potato lattes! Has anyone tried? I love trying unusual hot lattes. Had a delicious rosemary latte on Vancouver. Island.

I haven’t tried those ones yet.

In terms of unusual lattes, have tried a black sesame latte somewhere else. (Not available at Rustle and Still)

I liked the Vietnamese coffee at Rustle and Still, made with condensed coconut milk, hot or cold. (I still also order the dairy one, I alternate)

Tried a cortado and bought some Detour beans at The Only on Danforth today.

Also enjoyed a Dirty Chai at Mayil, an Indian Café on the College Promenade. Very nice masala chai, will get it without the espresso next time. Mayil also has some savoury Indian snacks, Indian-inspired macarons, Indian sweets, scones, and banana bread.

The espresso drinks were a little weak at Vintage Cat Café on St Clair W on the Corso d’Italia. I will try a Turkish coffee next time. The pastries are made in-house.

The hot drinks come with a free cookie, which is nice.

My Sam James Flat White cost $5.63 including tax yesterday. Nice version but steeper price than Coco’s or most other spots I frequent more often.

My Fika iced cardamom latte, $5.75 before tax
