April-June 2025 Cookbook of the Month NOMINATIONS

Hey there, COTM peeps, existing and potential, somehow we’re almost through the first quarter of 2025 already (how did that happen?), which means it’s time to nominate sources for spring quarter.

As LLM noted last time around, having at least one option that’s online is a boon since it makes accessing recipes easy and ergo, participation seamless. So think about websites you’d be interested in exploring as well as cookbooks and authors as you make your nominations. Ideally, we’ll end up with two varied options to cook from together over the next three months.

HOW TO NOMINATE: Type the book/author/website you’re nominating in ALL CAPS for easy distinction. (If you’re discussing but not nominating, use standard capitalization). You may make as many nominations as you wish, but please nominate with the intention of cooking along should your nomination(s) be selected.

NOMINATIONS WILL CLOSE on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26 at 7PM EDT/4 PM PDT. If there are couple of clear frontrunners, those will become our selections, and if there is more question we’ll have a quick vote-off (possibly with some weighting at the coordinators’ discretion to avoid too much dilution).

As always, please keep on adding to the reporting threads for current and past books and sites — they’re all linked from the Archive.

THE FOOD LAB
COOK’S ILLUSTRATED COOKBOOK
SILVER PALATE COOKBOOK ugh complete sentence

I would love to really pay attention and learn lots from THE FOOD LAB for three months. (The one recipe I’ve tried, for braised green beans, is for great green beans.)

I will add to the nominations for BAREFOOT CONTESSA month. I just treated myself to 2 more of her titles. Her recipes never disappoint and I would love an excuse to do a deep dive into them for a few months.

I see her book index here Barefoot Contessa | Cookbook Index (just an index to her books, no full recipes) It begins with 35 cocktails :slightly_smiling_face:
