April-June 2025 Cookbook of the Month NOMINATIONS

Okay, COTM people, only around 42 hours remaining in which to nominate!

Any interest in WHAT GOES WITH WHAT? I am currently reading through it and her voice is so warm, comforting, and encouraging.

This looks interesting. I have put it on hold but the wait list is long. Maybe next quarter for me.

I had missed that she had a new book — ebook is not at my library yet.

I would be up for JULIA TURSHEN QUARTER to give some time for people to get the new book – now or I’ll gladly nominate again next quarter.

Books by Julia Turshen (not counting the co-writes):
What Goes With What
Simply Julia
Now & Again
Small Victories
Feed the Resistance

I could definitely see doing a RAGHAVAN IYER QUARTER.

And it reminds me…putting a pin in a Meera Sodha Quarter for later times. since she now has a few books and also a regular recipe column in the Guardian.

Nominations are now closed. Please read on and vote below!

When we moved to quarterly rather than monthly selections, we also discussed the utility of having an “easy”/more-accessible choice and another “stretch” choice (or a second one that encompasses both simpler and more complex recipes).

Since BAREFOOT CONTESSA QUARTER was ahead of all other nominations, that will be our first selection for April-June and falls in the former category. In the latter category, where nominations were close, we’ll vote between KRISTINA CHO (books and blog) and RAGHAVAN IYER (books).

VOTING WILL CLOSE MONDAY, MARCH 31, AT 4 PM. Please mark your vote below.

  • KRISTINA CHO QUARTER
  • RAGHAVAN IYER QUARTER

Thanks Caitlin!

Looks like a great quarter to come, whichever way it goes!

I, for one, am torn between Raghavan Iyer and Kristina Cho for the second option!

BUMP – don’t forget to vote for the second selection!

Either one will be fine with me. I will be happy to try out/contribute from Iyer (I have “660 Curries” from Iyer, which is Indian --and when I have liked the results it is just – dinner!) Same for the Cho recipes online. I hope people with a preference chime in.

I am very excited about our first option. I will happily read along about the second selection too.

Hey all, just 16 hours remaining to get those votes in!

I want to vote for Kristina Cho but I don’t want to tie the vote, so I’ll hold off. Can nominate again next quarter, and hopefully her second book will be in more libraries for people to check out by then.

If we do end up with a tie, I will literally flip a coin to break it.

Okay all, thanks for the lively nomination cycle, and I look forward to what we’ll all be cooking up this spring! It’ll be INA GARTEN/BAREFOOT CONTESSA and RAGAVHAN IYER QUARTER, and I’ll get ye olde reporting threads up at some point tomorrow.
