Zhang's Grille has bitten the dust [NJ]

Wow…this guy definitely called him out. I wonder what’s going to open next.

Is “throwing this up” really the metaphor you want to use here?

based on some of the pics/reviews it may be an apt phrase.
Can’t believe that place didn’t work out…
Any owner out there if you have $$& and want to open a spot, just call drew or chef ron or any other universally beloved chef in these parts and offer them equity and watch your place succeed. Hiring the line cook from a run of the mill quantity over quality joint to run your pet project will never work unless your name rhymes with ick-Boone’s.

File under: “It just keeps getting better and better”.

Menu is hard to read but you’ll note it includes seafood AND Chinese.

Just saw that in the group. The comments are mixed between congratulatory and “What the fuck?”

They just won’t learn will they? They need to add more
Shitty food to the selections? That’s the ticket!!!

I would pick chinese or steakhouse and stick with one. I guess they did away with the “thia” food? :joy:

Greg, can you post any better shots of the menu? I cant read the steak one so maybe if you zoom in you can screenshot it. I’m just interested in what they offer and the prices.

It’s too blurry if I zoom in. There’s no menu online, just that shot from new management which was posted in a comment on Facebook.

Yeah I looked online and couldn’t find a thing. Sad

Guess you just have to take one for the ole’ team there CJ!!!

So I went to Lidl last night and passed Peter’s. There were three cars there (2 to the far right in first lane and one in the second row in the middle of the lot.) 3 three cars total in an otherwise empty parking lot. After Lidl I went to aldi to get 79 cent pineapples but they weren’t on sale and they didn’t have cilantro either, so I wandered around and got a few random things. Next I stop at Burlington coat factory to try and find a container with a spigot to not avail. So I head back toward best buy and pass Peter’s. So probably an hour later there were two cars at 7:15…the same three works (presumably) and 2 new cars, possibly customers.

After best buy I head back toward keyport for dinner and it is now 7:45. The same 5 cars are there. So at 7:45 on a saturday they had two tables at most, possibly less than that.

This place needs some help.

The koi asian place 200 yards down was packed.

I wonder if Door Dash knows that someone from Peter’s is slipping menus into order bags?

Justin had a Door Dash order from Chipotle this afternoon, and when he opened the bag, it contained a menu for Peter’s Crab and Steakhouse (and Chinese and Thai and Korean BBQ, etc, etc, etc).

The delivery driver was Asian, and of course, Peter’s is owned by the former owners of Zhang’s. I’m not aware of businesses being able to do this, like an “advertisement”.

I am wondering if this is blog post worthy because I can’t imagine this being allowed. It is free advertising and a pretty low attempt at that. Just because they use Door Dash themselves does not give them the right to push menus on other businesses.

WOW. Just… wow.

Ditto. How strange.

Blog worthy?

I think so!
