Toasted Muenster & cheddar cheese sams and buttered steamed broc for the #1 grandson and wife (they thumb wrestled for the Pooh plate and he “won”, of course).

Charcuterie wrap with kimchi for me. Okay, the “charcuterie” was just prepackaged lunch meat (turkey, salami, pepperoni, and with cheddar), but a guy can dream, right?

beyond disillusioned with prices of British supermarket bakery items - £2 for 6 sub rolls?!

We made a quiche to bring to the school for teacher appreciation week, so we used the second pie crust to make one for ourselves! PIC worked his pie crust magic, I made the caramelized onion, mushroom, kale and cheese filling. Cheese was a mystery nub of cheese in the fridge plus some cheddar. So so good and a great way to clear out sad veggies and languishing cheese!

Todays version of pork tenderloin…friseé, radicchio, red onion, snow peas, cucs, avocado, blue cheese with a Dijon mustard vinaigrette.

Love how you always use a variety of lettuce in your dishes. Frisée is a tough find around these parts.

Dim sum for brunch today, tried a new place kinda close by, The Queen Seafood Cuisine, and it was very good and it was rammed. Had Baked bbq pork buns, very tasty and a bit sweeter than what we’re used to.
Pan fried shrimp and chive dumplings, very good but only lukewarm.
Shrimp and pork dumplings in chili sauce, delicious and very spicy, I think they used Sichuan peppercorn for the heat.
Har gow, excellent.
Siu mai, delicious.
Pan fried seafood and scallion pancake, the only miss of the day, greasy and underwhelming.
And for dessert, milk tarts. tasty, but I prefer egg tarts.
All in all a very enjoyable meal, will return but we’ll get there earlier to avoid the wait and to take advantage of their “pre 11am special”, which we missed by only 6 minutes :frowning:

Impossible to find by me, I’m importing it from Brooklyn
The radicchio is Treviso, the long slender style.

Lunch today was a zucchini salami sandwich with kalamata olives. The toast looks more burned in the picture than in IRL.
