Toasted some Easy Tiger sourdough, spread one piece with Duke’s mayonnaise, the other with Roland Dijon, topped with Swiss, post oak smoked ham, and sliced tomato, and ate the evidence.
Cheater chicken pot pie, reheated (it was dinner last night). Package of frozen mixed veg, cooked, and combined with a can of cream of potato soup, 10oz can (drained) of chicken breast (Kirland) OR 1-2 C shredded cooked chicken, and 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning, in an 8x8 pan. Topped with half a package of crescent roll dough/sheet. Baked about 20 minutes, until filling is bubbling around the edge and the top is nicely brown.
Grilled cheese and ham on sourdough bread and a side of “all dressed” crinkle cut chips. Obligatory blob of catsup for dipping.
Veggies for lunch today, haricots vert, small zucchini, sweet potato with butter.
Chocolate mousse and raspberries.
The remains of a braised chuck roast on toasted home made white with HEB Mi Tienda chipotle mayonnaise.
Mushroom soup, cremini and dried porcini, chicken broth (Bourdain) , a favorite mushroom soup. I used a little dry Marsala rather than sherry.
Endive, fennel, pear, walnut salad, anchovy vinaigrette.
Chocolate mousse with crushed peppermint candy
Oooh! Another delish mushroom soup! Is it this recipe?
Not only does the soup and salad look good but the dishes are beautiful!
Yes, that’s the recipe and I suggest a blender, not an immersion blender to achieve the velvety texture which makes this soup so good!
Thank you, they are so cheerful to use!
Got it. I like a bit of texture in my cream soups, so I could see adding a topping like crispy pancetta or… crispy mushrooms ![]()
That would work!
I’ve had the soup made with finely chopped mushrooms rather than pureed but for me, it loses something .
That was my lunch today, too!
That looks great. My breakfast was too late to squeeze in a lunch before tonight’s HH, but if I can be arsed to make something similar / club-ish for dinner upon our return, know that your post was my inspiration ![]()
@mts great minds etc, @linguafood glad to be of service.
