And a great story it is, other than the fact that he was formerly associated with the other Thai restaurant, I can neither confirm nor deny.
A shredded chicken salad sandwich with capers, olives and arugula. The bread and mayo were made in casa, still getting tomatoes from the FM.
Why, it’s Taco Friday @casa lingua! We shared a roast pork, brisket, and Cajun shrimp taco flight. I was positively starvated and we snarfed this up in under 5 min, I think ![]()
Fridge has been cleaned out and organized so it’s time for a lunch break then time to tackle the freezer. Thankfully it’s a small one
Lunch today was a corn salad with a tomato, radishes and a cuke.
That looks so fresh and summery!
This is one of my favourite salads from CSA season. I usually add some fresh herbs but in keeping with tradition I forgot herbs this week
The last few weeks I seem to have forgotten one thing on my grocery list and this week it was herbs ![]()
Herbs, shmerbs. As long as you liked it that’s all that matters ![]()
A pantry clearing exercise that resulted in Pad Thai (“Bad Thai”? “Bachelor Pad Thai”? “Pantry Thai Raid”?) using some old rice noodles, the last of a frozen bag of Argentinian red shrimp, a snack package of Planter’s peanuts, an 87 cent package of Saffron Road Pad Thai Simmer sauce (serviceable) along with the usual tofu, scrambled eggs, bean sprouts, bell pepper, cilantro, and lime wedges.
Late, tasty lunch. Frozen dumplings simmered in doctored chicken broth, FM baby bok choy added for one minute at the end. I went a bit heavy on the chili garlic sauce, my lips are tingling.
My kinda meal! ![]()
Brazilian Fish Stew Moqueca, made with 10 oz of orange roughy, coconut milk, red bell pepper and green (in place of yellow) bell pepper. I made a half recipe (4 generous servings total) and served with coconut rice, to use the extra half-can of coconut milk. Looking forward to reheating the rest tomorrow. Thanks, @Phoenikia for the suggestions in the DOTQ - Stews discussion. We had sliced fresh orange on the side.
The “ipsedixit special”
Frozen tater tots smothered with Spaghetti-Os.
Oh, and garnished with shredded butternut squash. #BecauseAutumn
I am so happy you made it and liked it ![]()
Fridge clean-out lunch with the leftover shaved (shredded would be a more appropriate term, TBH) lamb shoulder from TJ’s, plus a few leaves of napa and baby bok choy, stir-fried in peanut oil & a drop of sesame oil. I added a little more tamari than I wanted to, bc it shot out like a mofo.
Looks like I’ll be a very thirsty girl today — but I’ll never be the thirstiest girl on the block ![]()
