What's for lunch? (2025)

Today’s lunch was the real deal😆, Lebanese flavored arayes and they were very good. In addition to a variety of spices and fresh parsley , there was grated onion and garlic.
On the side was Toum, I lessened up on the volume of garlic and it was still very garlicky and a delicious addition.

Pistachio gelato, crushed amaretti cookie and chocolate/pistachio bits…better than I thought! Maybe some chocolate sauce would gild the lily…and I’m not above that.

My lunch for the week: Medjara from Ottolenghi’s Jerusalem. I’m going to bring yogurt too.

Grabbing a quick lunch from my favourite neighbourhood Burger joint " GRILLIES ’ again.
This time, loaded up with protein by ordering a ’ Monster ’ - All Beef Pattie, grilled seasoned Chicken Breast, Bacon, regular toppings, extra pickles, Sweet BBQ Sauce.

Egg bake, spinach salad, bakery croissant, strawberries. with whipped cream. Outdoors on our back deck again. With cottonwood tree seed “snow” blowing gently in the sunshine all around. We only had to fend off a few fluffy seeds.

There’s been white fluff in the air here in Berlin all May.

Smoked turkey baked chimichangas. Batch of 10 was baked last night - some for supper, some reheated for lunch today and a few frozen for a future meal… With guac, sour cream, salsa, lettuce & cherry tomatoes. Rhubarb cake for dessert.

At BER: egg drop ham & cheese, toasted.

TPSTOSE, ham, cheese & some sort of inoffensive sauce.

It did not suck. Huge — it had better be, at the whopping price of 12.95€ and yes I know it’s airport prices  — and enough for the both of us to stave off hunger till our arrival at the airbnb :slightly_smiling_face:

Ty, they are so lovely at this time of year. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain and they took a bit of a beating.

Sadly, that’s about the average price for sandwiches around here.

Wow!

Reheat of last night’s convenience-combination chicken pot pie: Shredded rotisserie chicken, frozen mixed veggies, small-diced yukon gold potato, cream of mushroom soup, Italian seasoning. Microwave warmed to thaw veggies & soften potatoes, then topped with half of a crescent roll dough sheet and baked in standard oven 20 minutes to deep golden brown.

Dessert was the other half of the dough in a tart pan, baked to brown then spread with vanilla pudding, berry spice (cocoa/sugar/burgundy wine powder) and sliced strawberries. One end scattered with chocolate sprinkles, just for fun.

What is BECP?

Nice flaky cod, poached with butter in the sous-vide, 121F. Over TJ’s cacio e pepe ravioli, topped with Greek myzithra cheese. It’s my favorite pasta cheese, but for a long time the kind available here was too dry. The local monger found a new supplier, and this is the myzithra of my youth.

Looks like: bacon, egg, cheese, pickle.
