Comfort food! Meatloaf (using leftover bags of Cheez-its, crumbled), mashed 'taters, garlic spinach.
What great statues, love them. In Boston we get cows. Which are fun in their own ways
What a great way to add flavor to meatloaf!
Sauteed sausage and broccoli florets, chopped tomatoes from my deck, a sploosh of wine, minced garlic, some Pomi tomato sauce, Aleppo pepper, a sploosh of heavy cream…all tossed with penne pasta, and topped with grated Parm-Reg and slivered basil from my deck.
Dinner.
It was some day. Comfort snack food was the antidote. Havarti with Triscuits, ripe cherry tomatoes, amazing cold smoked olives stuffed with jalapeños and garlic. G&T. Two rounds of each.
This recipe here popped up in my NYT cooking mail this morning, and it sounded like an easy, light & tasty meal. I picked up a nice piece of cod at the fishmonger & roasted some crappy supermarket tomatoes with it. The resulting tomato ‘sauce’ added a nice touch to the cod, which I had brushed with olive oil, Penzey’s lemon pepper & Penzey’s mural of flavor.
I also roasted two fennel bulbs with “not enough parm” - according to my PIC. I disagree, but I def need to roast fennel more often
We’ve all had days like that. In fact, today was one of them.
Emergency dinner from the freezer.
Red lentil soup, drizzled with chili oil, lemon juice and a dollop of yogurt. Homemade pita.
For dessert: the last of yesterday’s chocolate carrot cake.
Cookbook of the Month nominations are underway if folks are interesting in cooking “together” from a book pop on over.
Thanks, I like the glass too - it’s a Gabriel-glas StandArt
To drink was a nice white wine - Les Équilibristes Hirsute 2021
Quick solo dinner at Nopa https://www.nopasf.com/ - first time visit and though it was just a relative quick dinner, it was overall a very good first impression with good dishes and a nice seat directly in front of the kitchen
Been awhile, but it’s my favorite way to do a whole chicken. And yours looks delicious
Especially the crispy skin!
You linked the Sept COTM - do you mean October?
