What's For Dinner #96 - the Which Marketing Commercial Month Is It? Edition - August 2023

Camping dinner: Grilled chicken, cabbage grilled en papillote, prepared mashed potatoes (not pictured), and green salad with peach vinaigrette. It was too hot for s’mores.

Sauvignon Blanc (Nobilo) in our cups.

I’ve had Crema de Aguacate, which is served warm, at Columbian restaurants. https://www.mycolombianrecipes.com/crema-de-aguacate-colombian-creamy-avocado-soup/

It’s a different use, but I liked it.

Dinner at seester’s Saturday - homemade pasta, and a jarred sauce i found - Truff black truffle pomodoro, with prawns. The black truffle scent/taste was subtle when tasting the sauce on its own out of the jar, but disappeared when heated and paired with the shrimp. Very good sauce nonetheless, a good sweetness. Comparable to Raos, to me. Bufala mozz and maters on the side.

Then a shitty pic of my dinner last night - Halibut with the NYT citrus pesto (pistachios, basil/mint, and lemon juice/zest), and COTC with EBTB. My fish stuck to the pan, but still very tasty. Crispy skin in the background. That pesto is wonderful, it’ll go on pasta for me and the BF sometime soon.

Oh my goodness, THREE dozen ears of corn? What a phenomenal production! Job well done!

Yeah, I’m not into anything ‘hot avocado’. It doesn’t seem right.

Camp cooking mastered! En papillote is surely a step up from cooking in foil parcels and probably healthier!

This is the exact meal I made for my son’s 11th birthday last week, as he requested! Definitely a favorite in our house.

Last night was pizza on stone fire naan. Fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, some small cubes of roasted eggplant (that I had roasted when I didn’t use the eggplant as planned and it needed to be cooked) and ricotta after baking. No picture because I forgot : ) Campari spritzer to wash it down!

Oh, I just meant foil parcels. I think anything else would ignite over/in a campfire?

Everything But The Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s.
