Since the Amalfi experiment called for sitting & marinating we had to eat something in the meantime. Freezer dive!

For Hubs - Lamb & Turkey Shepherd’s Pie

I try to keep tasty Pot Pies & Shepherd’s Pies on hand from Crustees, a vendor at our local Farmers Market

I massaged my kale! @ChristinaM

Kale Salad w/Avocado, Purple Haze Goat Cheese, Cranberries, Pumpkin Seeds, Dressing of Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Maple Syrup, S&P

This was the bottom of the basket but the farm stand guy made me buy it because “Kale is nice & sweet right now.” He gave me the dressing recipe too and also advised a “massage”. I need a darn massage! But, yep, for kale it was quite sweet.

Looking at all of your wonderful food pics in agony. I have been dealing with on-and-off stomach issues for the last week or so. I believe it was brought on by something I ate. These issues have not been constant, and actually went away this weekend. But I woke up this morning and it was so bad I contemplated going to the hospital.

Anyway, to spare the details, I had myself a day off full of tea, toast, and Pepto :face_with_thermometer:. I am feeling alright now (aside from being weak with dehydration), and was actually starving which I guess is a good sign. BF made me chicken rice soup (extra rice!) seasoned with adobo. I’ve only had a few spoonfuls and it is delicious. Going to try to get a whole bowl down and maybe more.

I normally have a cast iron stomach, but I guess it has weakened a little (maybe due to eating habits, or maybe stress and my schedule which rarely calls for relaxation). Last night’s delicious but greasy dinner (the beef I posted was deep fried before being added to the sauce-- and I know the oil was not hot enough for some of it) might have done this to me. I am hoping it is that or food poisoning and not something worse.

Geez. I am three months away from 30 and already falling apart. :sob: :sob: :sob:

Bo kho that i started yesterday, using beef shank. Needed to be a little brothier, but otherwise it was great. added 4 bird eye chilies today because the recipe called for nothing that would have given it heat, added a little more fish sauce, and chopped cilantro and basil. Loved the cooked daikon in this (which also wasn’t in the recipe.)

Thanks again for the reminder, @ChristinaM.

Oyster mushrooms and potatoes in (maybe? I don’t know what to call it) ranchero sauce, with cojita cheese and cilantro. Very monochromatic! Tasted better than it looks. Courtesy of MexicanMadeMeatless.

Tomato soup with dill and cream cheese (and submerged cucumber).

Back from spring break in the desert - still isolating, so basically us in a different house with different scenery :joy:

Lots of (bad) takeout for dinner. We came back to (good) sushi last night, and homemade Indian tonight.

I made chicken curry - was meant to be one of our family recipes, but I put in (very fragrant) bay leaves by mistake instead of Indian tejpatta, which changed the whole flavor profile - even though I fished them out halfway when the aroma alerted me to the switch. So: tasty, but different.

Rest of the meal was dal tempered with caramelized onions and cumin, cauliflower dry-style, paneer matar (peas) and palak (spinach) paneer (one for each kid, courtesy mom). GF chapatis, regular parathas (I made myself some after what felt like a year), and rice.

Forgot to take pics of anything.

The chicken soup looks great. But you take care of you! :hugs:

We used the little, pale green zucchini when we made it, as suggested by a woman from another food group who had lived in Italy for the past 25 years.

Those tomatoes look fantastic!

Greg, please don’t overlook anything. I had gut issues about 5-6 years ago that I just passed off as an upset stomach due to nerves, stress, and eating “too rich” foods. Turns out it was something much more serious. Once it was diagnosed (6 months later), I went through a period of taking medications and then had a procedure done. It took awhile, but it helped a LOT. But if that diagnosis had happened earlier, I would have had a lot less pain and uncomfortableness.

So if you’re still not feeling well, get yer butt to a doctor! Please?
(I’m not a Mom in real life, but I play one on the Internet!)

And this is why you’re my grammar & punctuation soul sister.

ETA: And I about died laughing when I realized I had typed “your” instead of “you’re”. Quick edit to fix.

Last night’s new sip: The Necromancer. Lillet blanc, Absinthe, St. Germain, fresh lemon juice, splash o’gin. Equal parts (3/4 oz.) everything but the gin . A keeper.

Hope you’re on the mend today, but if not, please don’t ignore it. I don’t think food poisoning goes away for a weekend and comes back. Please take care of your almost-30 self!

I do shit like that all the time!

And I’ll pile on - as someone who used to suffer from a lot of digestive trouble - maybe check out the Fast Tract diet and see if any of it resonates with what you’re experiencing.

Also please know that 30 is still very young.:laughing:

I am making that as soon as I feel up to have booze again!
