Oh.My.God - That poem was my life when I was little!
I am assuming this was you !
Cutie âŚ
I can only imagine!
Just in case my associations were too loose, I was talking about very good and horrid chicken breasts.
Iâll do my reminiscing on the nostalgia thread.
Your Sprout is much older than I imagined! LOL
Itâs me!
I canât read that poem without thinking about my childhood. My daughter had ringlets as a young child and I used to recite it to her - still do.
When I started to refer to her as The Sprout I think she was about 11. Sheâs 23 now and not really a sprout.
A weather-inappropriate meal, considering it was a âfeels likeâ 98° day. So I didnât even go outside. But it was a stovetop meal throughout, so it didnât bust the A/C.
A favorite Mom Meal, in honor of what would have been her 90th birthday: Momâs Lemon Pot Roast with sides of boiled potatoes and carrots.
Wine alongside.
@LindaWhit, you honored your Momâs memory in style. Hereâs to her memory, and to the wonderful daughter she raised.
Shrimp tacos tonight! Grilled shrimp with dry rub and various toppings. A grilled corn salad with cilantro, sweet onion, cherry tomatoes and lime. An avocado crema. Cilantro and onion, of course. I grilled the tortillas tonight. Too thick but tasty!
Tonight I made all-veggie minestrone in the IP. CSA summer squash, pole beans, green pepper, carrots, cabbage, parsley, [non-CSA:] herbed tomato sauce, shallot, onion, olive oil, and Parm Regg rind. It turned out delicious.
That looks delicious!
We too are having shrimp tacos tonight! Just made a cilantro-lime slaw and letting in sit in the fridge for a bit. Just got home from work and the BF is working late, so this will be a late dinner for us and probably no pics.
Debating whether or not I want a margarita. After the last few days at work, I could do a whole pitcher.
A lovely meal. Cheers to your mom!
oohhhh i can just taste the beefiness of that ribâŚ
happy belated birthday!!
Chorizo linguini tonight made with a mix of Spanish style chorizo with a little ground beef, sauteed with onion, garlic, jalapeno, tomato paste, chipotle powder, a few cherry tomatoes, and cilantro. Blended the cooked pasta with a couple tbs Mexican crema and grated cotija, then mixed the meat sauce into it. Super creamy. Tomato slices with oregano vinaigrette on the side.
also made a chorizo/gr. beef, bacon-wrapped meatloaf for another night. and i have chicken thighs marinating in a jerk spice paste for tomorrow nightâs dinner.
Sorry I donât have photo for you. This was spur of moment but so mouthwatering . I topped a left over piece of ham with pineapple slices and baked in oven to heat up and brown. I made sauce from canned juices, generous amount of dry mustard, a bit of honey and flour to thicken. Poured it over ham/pineapple and continued to back for 10 min.
Spectacular thunder & lightning storms rolled through metro Detroit midday yesterday, so we were pretty much housebound. Did have eggs. Did have produce. So for WFD, I went with a hard scramble in our Wok.
Same here! And sometimes I recite it when Iâm in the mood.
