Caesar Celery and Fennel Slaw

I just made a quick dressing with fresh lemon juice, freshly grated garlic, mayonnaise, grated parm regg, fish sauce (in place of anchovy), Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. I also added a squirt of Dijon mustard for brightness. Dressed finely shaved fennel and that was it.

How long is it “good” (toothsome and not brown)?

Looked and tasted great today at lunch. The lemon helps.

Mrs. P made her famous quail salad tonight with pan seared boneless quail breast, arugula, grapes, smoked beets, sautéed red onions, roasted mini and shishito peppers, sugar snap peas, fresh shaved cheddar, in a balsamic reduction :yum:

The trend of odd and quick cooking continues here. The little one has strep which took wayyy too long to diagnose so it has been a rough week at our house. She wants to eat exactly nothing and I’ve been freaking out about her losing weight. Whereas I’ve been stress eating so I know exactly where her lost lbs are going :joy:.

Hopefully with a diagnosis she’ll be feeling better soon! I remember being miserable with strep as a child. It was worse than chicken pox.

Awww strep throat sucks. Poor thing. At my house it was always chicken soup with rice or khichdi (soft-cooked rice with lentils, goes down easy, and nutritious).

And I feel your pain. I’ve been eating every kind of carb in sight while I’ve been down and out. Hoping tomorrow is the end of that :joy:.

Thanks. I’ve never had it. Poor kid but the Dr says she should feel better tomorrow!

Carbs! Hope you feel better asap! Thanks

Even though (or maybe because ) my mom was an RN, there would be no tonsillectomies nor antibiotics I can recall as a child.

But there were frequent sore throats and Catholic rituals. There was this one that had something to do with someone getting a fish bone stuck in their throat that involved crossing candles on your neck, and every time I remember hoping my sore throat would be cured. It wasn’t.

Met a friend for drinks last night, we went to Oso (mexican aka margarita please) and i had great grilled nopales tacos. Terrible light so no photos. Also realized i was hungry a bit later and did some serious damage to this bag of Bamba

Tonight ceasar sounded fantastic from @ChristinaM the other night and i even had some croutons around! Added in some of the endless batch of farro and some cherry tomatoes and made a quick dressing that uses capers and nutritional yeast for a fishless dressing. I also added in some of the garlic i roasted the other day that came in my produce box Really hit the spot!

Also found some watermelon from florida that was better than I expected
