What's for Dinner #38 - the Spooky Oct '18 Edition

Yeh you might be a huffer. Liability makes for mindless reactions

Ah - that did not occur to me. Sounds disgusting - just the lingering smell from the spray paint is a bit repulsive to me.

Depends on if you like the buzz. Hahaha

Pan pizza. Of course gluten sandwiched between olive oil and cheese will be good. Toppings were jalapeño, red bell pepper, onion, and chicken. My family likes the cheese well done like that. I like it better without the browning, but I’m okay with it this way, too.

Tacos al carbón. Skirt steak marinated all day and was really good. I am all about salsa verde lately, too. Zukes, onions, and poblanos alongside. Zin in our glasses.

How do you season your collards?

aromatics consisted of onion, celery and garlic. Beyond that salt.

Thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes everyone, much appreciated :clinking_glasses:
I have also made the executive decision that for my birthday next year- which will be a significant number- my sister and i will spend it on a beach in mexico. Which will hopefully make it suck less!

That “other” website talked up the knish at pastrami queen of all places, which for obvious reasons just wasn’t a restaurant i have been to. And damn, this thing was freaking AMAZING. Best knish I’ve had ever. Counter guy said the dough didn’t use butter, and it’s a delicate pastry holding together the innards. I got the spinach.
Only managed to eat half which was perfect with a dab of mustard and some dill pickle. Kombucha a la carte.

Nice food . On the other hand , my birthday just feels like a pity party .

That knish looks really good! (adding to the very long list of things to do when I next visit NYC)

The knish has egg, right? Looks tasty, but the egginess bothers me when I eat a knish…

Some pressure cooker pho again. I just bought a meat slicer, and it made slicing the cooked brisket thinly very easy.

Isn’t that potato? I’ve never had a knish with egg (I’m with you…I can’t even look at a cooked egg).

Happy belated Birthday. Some R&R on a Mexican beach sounds like the right ticket. Was recently looking at Isla Mujeres, a little island off of Cancun

It’s in the pastry and in the potato.

I love eggs, actually, but the eggy flavor in the mashed potato is what I was referring to (also I thought @Ttrockwood is vegetarian/vegan)

I made a spaghetti pie with eggplant. I read about it in a cooking magazine while at the gym. Tasty but next time I will either make a side of sauce or double the tomatoes/cut the pasta way back because it was a bit dry. Fun to cut a pasta like a pie though:
