After a lil kitchen cleanup we took the Vespa downtown to check out the annual APIDA Festival, which has been growing steadily over the last couple of years ![]()
The only two food trucks on site (Persian and a modern Indian) didn’t appeal — plus we were still stuffed TBH, but we saw a fun dance performance by a Sri Lankan troupe from NJ, as well as many stunning, festive outfits in the crowd, and even bumped into 2 of our guests from last night!
A nice afternoon surprise was one of my chile heads stopping by to drop off half a loaf of freshly baked seeded sourdough. He’d mentioned a couple of days ago that he would do so, but of course I’d completely forgotten about it

Plans to meet up with another friend for afternoon beers followed by dinner at casa lingua & possibly a movie fell through, as he’s come down with something we def do not want.
And so, it’s just us two loveboyds enjoying leftovers & a quiet night in. I’ll admit I was a bit sad the tzatziki was all gone, but at least we had plenty of lamb, youvetsi, and melitsano.
I wanted to augment our meal with a microscopic horiatiki, for which I had to send my boo out bc we were low on flavor bombs.
He got back just before the rainstorm
, which will cool down temps significantly.
Probably more honey mangos for dessert later.
