Last night’s dinner was more orange jello. I’m going with something red today, say cherry, raspberry or strawberry. I’m sick of being sick! I told Santa I had been a good girl this year and asked him to get rid if this mess for me😉

It will be very low key. I sent my guy with everything cooked for dinner with his parents tomorrow. He was on dish duty though!
Off to Google cambozola dip! One of my favourite cheeses, and there is a wedge in the fridge.
It’s dead simple: smash up the cambozola (after peeling off the rind) add heavy cream and mix / whisk to thick yogurt consistency, add s&p to taste and a few snips of fresh thyme if you have any (I didn’t). The recipe also calls for a drizzle with olive oil, but I didn’t think it was needed. Plenty rich.

Best laid plans n ‘at. Befitting for a year of utter crapitude on more levels I care to count, we had to cancel our xmas eve soirée. My PIC is on a new batch of antibiotics for the diverticulitis & also gets to wear a catheter until he can see a urologist next week. Needless to say, nobody at casa lingua is up for festivities, even if we were just going to have a couple of dear friends over (one other guest is down with the crud that’s been going around here).
At least there wasn’t a hell of a lot of prep work involved. The only things we made for tonight are the gravlax, which I removed from its dill wrap, brushed off & will save for tomorrow in case we are up for a couple of hours at our friends’ xmas day gathering, plus the pistachio ice cream my boo made yesterday, which should also be fine for another couple of days.
We’ll freeze the ciabatta for future use, the shrimp for the cocktail I’d planned were never thawed, the seafood chowder can also sit in the fridge another day or two. My boo’s having BTB chicken. I don’t know what I’ll eat, as I’ve been crampy since this morning & stopped GAF hours ago. Bah humbug.

Christmas Eve dinner was a basa fillet simmered in a marinara sauce with olives and capers. I had a caesar salad on the side minus the croutons since I had a fresh baguette so I had a few slices to mop up the sauce.
Ham, black truffle Boursin mashed potatoes (delicious! highly recommend!) with butter lake, buttered baby peas, tomatoes.
