Realize your BF won’t like this Michelle Bernstein Chupe de Mariscos , since it’s heavy on the seafood, but maybe you and your sister would enjoy it some time. I am making it again, for Xmas Eve.
I’ll try a Venezuelan Chicken Chupe at some point.

I don’t want to chew my liquids, and I don’t want to drink my solids.
Wow, gorgeous color on those scramblees!
oh yes, that looks great! my sister wuold love that too!
thanks, saved the link.
Braised endive and sliced ham, gently heated up in the endive pan. Took about 3 minutes of effort and filled a hole, to quote. ![]()
This will be my third Christmas alone in my 37 years. I actually don’t mind it. My honey will be with his family and I’ll be home with the fur children. I splurged on some good tequila and lots of cheese. I also bought a 10 pack of edibles. And I have plans on the 26th to head to the casino with a girlfriend. Should be a relaxing few days. ![]()
Shaved steak sandwiches. Blue cheese for me. Cheddar for him. Caramelized some onions and shredded some brussel sprouts to add in. Roasted potatoes. Leftover dill dip for an ordered in dinner last night.
I envy you!!
I’ve been planning and calculating for a week. When to move this from the freezer to the fridge, how much of that I should make, when to start cooking this, so it is done with that. And that doesn’t even take into consideration all of the cleanup. I know it will be two dishwasher loads, one that night and one the next morning.
I was just thinking how nice it would be to just – (1) Open bottle of tequila (2) slice cheese (3) Turn on Football games – Done and done.
Can I come along???!!! It all sounds fab!
Leftover Swedish meatballs and gravy. Leftover smashed spuds. Baby garden peas from the freezer. Currant jelly.
Made chicken soup with a leftover Costco chicken carcass and tuna salad sammiches on home made sourdough…a nice meal for a rainy evening.
We’re Buddhist, so not much Christmas planning.
Baby it’s cold outside
Hot and spicy Weeknight Skillet Chili with beans, I use pinto and black, cotija and jalapenos. Avocado and warm sourdough saturated in butter.
Baked nine dozen cookies to give as gifts and had to sample them for quality control. I didn’t feel like cooking so heated up a Trader Joe’s corn dog.
Well, that sounds like a swell time — the edibles in particular (which do nothing for me personally) ![]()
Merry, merry!
While my PIC made pistachio ice cream for xmas eve yesterday,
I went out for a hopefully final shopping trip to pick up a lovely chonka Roquefort at the local cheese shoppe & another big-ass ciabatta loaf at the farmers market yesterday.
I made a cambozola dip for the Festivus party we were invited to last night. My PIC was still feeling kinda lousy, but that didn’t stop him/us from participating in some of the Feats Of Strength (we lost
). We also aired plenty of grievances on the aluminum pole. There was ham, mac & cheese, mashed, various cheeses etc. — nothing really photo-worthy, and I didn’t have much of anything, so I nuked some beef & chive dumplings when we got home.
A stupid pain he started having on the side is sending him to the ER today (possibly “just” a diverticulitis flareup, but better to have it checked) while I clean the house, and one of our guests is down with whatever shit is going around ![]()
Here’s hoping it’s nothing serious, and he’s better for our teeny tiny xmas eve soirée (so. much. food!), and that nobody else gets sick in the meantime ![]()

Oh no. I hope it’s nothing serious. Sending good vibes your PIC’s way.
Thank you, it’s been A Year health-wise and in a million other ways. He’s got no fever, and is hopeful the ER won’t be too packed yet at this hour — probz a lot of knife cuts ![]()
The alternative would’ve been to wait until tomorrow when there’s even less staff at the hospital, and we’re expecting yet another fabulous winter storm Friday ![]()
I hope your PIC is on the mend soonest. Maybe he could try going to emerge first thing in the morning? Where I live, that seems to be the quietest time of the day…. When I had my toe xrayed last year, the only place with xray machines that was open at that time of year was emerge. When I got there at 9:30 am I was done in 2.5 hours which is like 5 minutes in the real world.
He left 20 min ago, so here’s hoping ![]()
Actually just got a txt that they’re gonna do bloodwork and a CT scan to “rule out the big scary things,” but it may well be that damn diverticulitis.
