Stomach was all queasy and wonky today, so dinner was plain old soft scrambled eggs and a toasted Eng/Muff(probably could have done without all that butter

Seemed to help a bit.
Good luck with your visit to the clinic!
Thank you! Today’s the day I find out if I have sleep apnea. Sleeping is a beautiful thing…
Hope they can figure it out and get you some sleep!
Gimme Some Oven’s Skinny Orange Chicken on Basmati rice with peas alongside, and green onions and sesame seeds sprinkled on top. As usual, I cut WAY back on the amount of cornstarch, because her recipe as written makes for a very gloppy sauce.
Seester and I had take-out Thai last week from a new-to-me place, and got the beef salad, among other things. It was bad - dry meat, bland, etc. So I made it myself for us last night - rib eye, with red leaf lettuce, basil, cilantro, tomatoes, shallots, peanuts, thai bird chilies, in a fish sauce/etc. dressing. Good! And fresh corn, which is still tasting good around here!
It’s surprising–yellow corn is still available at Berkeley Bowl West, too.
Brought to you by Indian Summer!
Very nice! I enjoy micro greens - especially broccoli.
Thank you! I grow microgreens and sprouts, but these are from Trader Joe’s - always very fresh and last a long while.
Ah, right – I think it’s broccoli sprouts I enjoy.
I made shrimp a la criolla based on a Skinnytaste slow-cooker recipe, but I pan-grilled the shrimp and added more seasoning, jalapeño, and some crushed tomato. Served with quinoa and an arugula salad with raspberry vinaigrette, feta, avo, and pepitas.
Sachertorte for dessert.
Butter is the food of the Gods.
Road trip dinner consisted of a chicken tostada that tasted like ass. After being attacked by five flies, I left and went somewhere else and had carrot cake and champagne. Sitting in my room listening to the waves and drinking the rest of the bottle. Win some, lose some.
Where is that hotel view ?
Good luck with your sleep test! Hope the results are favorable
Got my cortisone shot after a shweddy AM leg sesh. Apparently, it can take up to 5 days to kick in, and so far it’s slightly worse
Plans to go out to celebrate our 26th smooch-a-versary were shelved in lieu of using up some fridge stuff.
But since it was such a nice & sunny day again (temps will go down significantly starting Wednesday) we did meet up with our buddy for another sundowner beer at the biergarten.
The trees framed tonight’s absolutely stunning full moon perfectly
I already knew I was going to make fried rice with some of TPSTOR left over from Sichuan delivery Friday, a handful of baby bok choy heads lingering in the crisper, and the remaining Lao sausages from the SEA market in Philly. WoL provided a nice recipe for Thai fried rice. I picked Thai basil from our friend’s yard, who is currently visiting her boo in HK, and also took 3 red chili peppers of unknown breed. Big for bird peppers, small for jalapeños. Serranos, perhaps?
I cut up two of them and we had to open the door to the patio when I fried them up bc we were coughing so hard
I also added half a sweet pepper a member in my local cooking group gifted me, along with some peas & corn.
Surprisingly, the heat level was lower than expected, so my PIC had the brilliant idea to add a few spoons of that heavenly Viet kumquat hot sauce: perfect combo, and sssssspicy
San Simeon,CA. Cavalier Oceanfront Resort. I used to recommend to anyone that would listen, but it’s gone downhill and needs a refurbishment badly.
So planning to sunbathe with the elephant seals ?
