I took a friend to a medical appointment about 40 min out of town around mid-day, after having successfully trimmed the entire PECK of green beans I got at the FM yesterday (and nicked my wrist doing it when my Global slipped and fell — I guess it won’t need sharpening for a while ).
Got to hang out in a PA town that could easily be the setting for the next Brad Ingelsby show & found a cute café for lunch.
Once again, I had no idea what to have/make for dinner & certainly didn’t feel like a big production. We ended up thawing the last 4 whole wings from a local farm we got back in 1912 or some such , frying them up in the air-fryer naked (the wings, silly!), then tossed with extra hot buffalo sauce & melted butter.
I made a BLT-ish salad on the side — iceberg, umami bomb tomatoes, half a zuke & half a yellow pepper that needed used, bacon, mayo scallion dressing.
We were going to share my leftover half of the brisket grilled cheese I brought back home, but we were full.
Cheap, low-key, and tasty.
