Jerk chicken, plantains and zuke, red beans and rice. Made a mango salsa to help through the heat.
Japanese style steak dinner with sauteed veg and fried rice. Garlic-soy-butter elements abound. Japanese 7-spice for heat.
I mean, we have like six Indian restaurants within 2 blocks of our apartment in the Mission District, and I have cooked it myself (thanks to the Indian grocery store a block away!) But I’m sure there are even better ones in the South Bay.
Looked up a recipe for the BF to make me a grapefruit/fennel/parm salad, but asked him to add toasted walnuts, walnut oil, and avocado for creaminess. Turned out great! The gorgeous pink grapefruit was from Trader Joe’s. Super sweet/bitter, very juicy.
we have a couple of those 4-leaf clover bowls!
looks great…
Seared and roasted seasoned pork tenderloin over a corn, asparagus, orange mini bell, onion succotash. Red & green cabbage, carrot, celery, green onion slaw, Carolina dressing, dill.
Those supremes are supreme.
I roasted a whole dorade. No photos of it before serving because I tried to flip it and the skin peeled off. With a brown rice and english pea pilaf, and romano beans.
Thank you. I think I bought this bowl and four smaller ones at Cost Plus World Market. I have a kitchen stuff addiction.
Kimchi Jjigae from one of the “Curry Guy” books - diced pork belly, tofu, kimchi, kimchi brine, scallions, onions, light soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, gochujang and gochugaru get braised in chicken broth. Served over rice
Meant to take a photo but totally forgot. Last nights dinner (for two) was prime strip steaks, sautéed mushrooms and onions, and corn on the cob. I made a Djion cream sauce as a nod to Bastille day. Dessert was a small bowl of Tillamook Salty Caramel Pretzel ice cream.
Love Pla Goong and that looks great, now I want some.
Oh! actually I think you’ve inspired me to make “Gung Pad Kra Tiem Prik Thai” Shrimp with Garlic and Black Pepper
thanks! he does have a way with food… he told me he peeled them individually by hand, using a knife was losing too much juice!
Romaine salad with leftover BBQ chicken, grilled corn, tomato, green olives, cucumber, red onion and shaved Parm/Regg. Lemon/Dijon dressing.
Butter and Japanese soy-sauce are always a perfect match!
Agree!
Spring Onion wanted me to post his dinner, which he made at his cooking class today at Wright-Locke Farm. They made fresh ravioli with an absolutely delicious cheese filling and a fettuccini dish with a cream lemon sauce. He snipped in some fresh basil for garnish that we got at our local wine shop which started a fresh-herb raised bed for customers to use. SO begged us to take a taste of both before digging in and we can attest to the deliciousness of both. He has class all week so I may be posting more. Wish I had access to these kinds of classes when I was a kid but so happy that he does now.
B and I had a pretty good pasta meal today as well—local gamelli with sautéed farmstand broccoli/garlic/red onion/some errant chickpeas/last dregs of delicious green olive tapenade/crushed red pepper/chorizo for him/TJ’s veggie Italian sausage for me. Big dollops of my garlic scape pesto and lemon squirts.
I made Woks of Life’s chicken, fresh shiitake, and gai lan stir fry tonight. Served over quinoa-brown rice with sesame cucumber salad… I am looking forward to leftovers for lunch.
