What's For Dinner #120 - the Grilling Edition - July 2025

We had our second PT sesh with our new trainers. We can barely walk or raise our arms above our shoulders. I guess that’s a good sign (?).

Then I had yet another trigger point needling appointment to deal with my chronic pain (the one in late April seemed to only exacerbate the issue, leaving me in pain for most of our Berlin sojourn), and after talking with the doctor we decided against it, since it hadn’t helped the first two times. Instead, we’ll now try lidocaine patches: 12 hours on, 12 hours off in the hopes that the area eventually desensitizes on its own. He also upped my Gabapentin dosage, which is kind of the opposite of what I want: I’d prefer to get off the stuff eventually.

Dinner was inspired by MTS’s mention of National Hot Dog Day here & the unopened pack of 40 (!) Sam’s Club all-beef wieners in our fridge. Our OG plan to grill those fell through thanks to torrential rain, so we air-fried them instead. We each had a dog on a bun & shared a 3rd sans. I had mine with ketchup, mustard & raw onion

(and I really DGAF what my PIC or anyone else has to say about that ). I also made a small wedge for each of us on the side: iceberg, sugar bomb tomatoes, avocado, Wegmans’ thick cut bacon. A mix of the two buttermilk ranch dressings I currently have in the house for me, traditional blue cheese dressing (CK’s of course) for my dude.
