Acorn squash stuffed with wild rice mixture. Plus air fryer tilapia. Very tasty.

Calamarata with slow simmered sausage-fennel ragu with black olives. The kiddo helped. Apple slices for the side.

We enjoyed another excellent dinner at Bistro D’Azur in South Orange, NJ, including lamb rib chops; tuna with lentils and broccoli rabe; duck confit salad with blue cheese and strawberries; lobster crepe; Spanish chips. It all went great with a couple of excellent cabernets.

A big fat buttered roll with heated up turkey breast and dressing. Lay’s potato chips and a dill pickle. A piece of store bought carrot cake to share.

NYT recipe, Harissa honey pork tenderloin. Roasted carrots, asparagus, shallot, red pepper, garlic, s&p. Sweet mixed greens with tomato, cuke, red onion, creamy Greek dressing. Wine.
The pork was just ok. I think the problem was the harissa powder I used, it’s sort of bland.

Dessert was caramel turtle cheese cake. It came with the pumpkin cheesecake.

What? That’s a load of gristle! Shame on them!

Kitty was blocked up!

I hope your acorn squash served you well. The deer friends enjoyed our discard from Thursday.

That sounded good. Sorry to hear it was underwhelming. It seems to me that the teaspoon of harissa spice powder is no match for the 1/4 cup of paste called for by the recipe. I find harissa paste much more intense than any powder I’ve ever had.

I got the acorns on Buy Nothing from someone who was dismantling her fall decor

Right? Even if the steak had cost half, I still woulda been salty about it. And the fact that they didn’t even mention the pile of debris when they took it away?

There’s a google review begging to be written…

Nah. He always likes to … celebrate our return that way. It’s a very odd way of welcoming us back, but then he’s also taken to joining either of us in the bathroom and do his business right then and there.

TBH I realllllly look forward to having his litter box back in the basement, where it belongs

None of my grocery stores have the paste, hence the powder. Do you have a brand you like that I might find on Amazon?

I’m partial to this one

I’ve seen it in a tube but I usually buy it in the small can and then transfer a portion to a small squeeze bottle. If it doesn’t fit I freeze the leftover.

Thanks, Amazon does have it so it’s in my cart.

I’m glad you found it. I believe Trader Joe’s has their own version, if that is at all convenient, but I can’t vouch for it. I bought this one for the first time when I was in Paris many years ago and have stuck with it.
