You may be better off just ordering Crab from one of the many Maryland Companies that sell Mail Order.
Do be sure that it is real Maryland Crabmeat. There is a Program that certifies it called “True Blue”.
But do remember that even in Maryland on the Bay Crabmeat is expensive!
Just my sekrit dry rub of ancho chile powder, garlic powder, garam masala, and oregano, and salt. I guess it’s not really a braise, just roasted in its own juices in the foil, 3 hours wrapped, 1/2 hour uncovered, 250F.
ooh, the garam masala is a nice surprise! thanks!
This needs its own thread @shrinkrap! Hilarious.
Sounds like a nice salad.
It was a nice interplay of bitter, sour and (slighty) sweet
I needed that, thanks!
Tonight I made braised Italian chicken pepper sandwiches on toasted brioche sesame buns with melty mozzarella, Duke’s mayo, Italian hot sauce, and Boston lettuce. Side of shredded carrot salad in honey mustard vinaigrette with pistachios and dried cranberries. Braising liquid for dipping. The sandwich idea I expanded on from Dinnertime S.O.S..
Made a pan of baked pork tenderloin and orzo for future meals, dinner tonight was a bowl of freezer soup(kale/sausage/bean) and a small red bib salad.
Shrimp tacos with red chile-tomatillo salsa. Salsa adapted from:
I added some anchos for about half the arbol chiles.
Dinner was a freezer pull: Turkey chili on elbow noodles, with grated cheese and sour cream, and half of a very good corn muffin I picked up at Wegmans, since it’s around the corner from the doctor appt I had today.
Tonight’s dinner was another dolmades appetizer then onto a shrimp and bok choy stirfry as the main. I found the recipe in a Google search since I was looking for a dish that called for shrimp (to squeeze in a fish dish this week) and something to use up some of the bok choy I had in the fridge.
Lazy Abendbrot with all kinds of goodies from the fridge — well, most of them. Marinated white beans, lox & horseradish, tomatoes & cukes dressed with oo and seasoned with s&p&o, two kinds of sourdough, homadama, city ham, San Daniele, brie, pavé, Gubbeen, lox spread, roasted garlic & herb cream cheese….
I almost cracked open the tin of smoked mussels I grabbed at TJ’s yesterday, but I was afraid it would be too much. It would’ve been.
TJ’s cheap-ass Grüner Veltliner to go with. Possible margaritas for dessert *
This was fork tender as is!
Yum.
As a marylander, crab cakes are easy to make at home so I rarely order out. I am partial to this recipe but it needs Old Bay https://andrewzimmern.com/recipes/baltimore-style-crab-cakes/
