That looks so good, all of it. Glad you are able to cook on the BGE again!!
Thank you! I really missed outdoor grilling over flame. I just can’t get the hang of grilling over gas. So glad to be back in business for the next 9 months.
Leftovers tonight. He decided to make an apple pie. Between the two of us we got the granny smith’s peeled and cored. Our wrists don’t work like they use to.

I ‘m hoping to put our Primo to far more use next year. No grilling in a Philly pad
Cloudy, sporadic drizzle, high of about 74 in the DC area today. I made tamale pie and spouse added a bagged salad to the mix as I had my usual Tuesday choral rehearsal. Very good although if I’d adhered to the recipe it would have been terribly bland
Voting threads for Dish and Cuisine of the Quarter:
Tonight’s dinner was Pea-Barley-Sausage soup. I accidentally picked up a couple cans of no-salt peas, so I pureed them with some garlic salt and chili powder. Added them to some pearl barley, a chopped up Dollar Tree discount sausage and some chicken stock. It was actually a pretty tasty soup, although I think I should have used beef stock vs. chicken stock.
DAYAM. That. Is. Amazing!
Thank you! It was totally delicious - good combo with the chimichurri and veg.
Is Dollar Tree sausage distinct from other grocery store sausages, flavour-wise?
Last night’s dinner on a blistering hot day - San Francisco summer has finally arrived. Cold somen noodz in a spicy ginger/garlic sauce with sesame seeds, shichimi togarashi, scallions and cukes. Refreshing, and i love the thinness of the noodles.
those look amazing!
oh my, that steak! beautiful!
your potato layer looks so fluffy!
Sorry to everyone who is experiencing mega-hot temperatures for forcing cool fall New Englandish temps on you in this thread!
But I writes what I am experiencing, and today will only be cloudy and about 63° in my neck of the country.
Well, you know the old adage…it’s always sunny in Philadelphia
This was the “Hot” version. Apparently, no one wanted or liked it – so (Dollar Tree management) discounted this version down to 25 cents. I purchased all of them (about 8-9 packs) and froze them. The hot version is actually pretty good. The basic version tastes like hot dogs.
Both Sunshine and I like our food a little on the spicy side – me more than her, though.
