Stopped by one of our Chinatowns this afternoon, which yielded some starters for dinner at a friend’s — spicy beef and pork pancakes, and char siu pork.
Dinner was fish topped with tomatoes, capers, and olives, tomato and mozzarella salad, and sautéed mixed mushrooms.
For dessert I had taken mille crepe cake from a bakery I like, and my friend had picked up molten chocolate cakes from a new bakery in their neighborhood, plus vanilla ice cream. I also took a lemon Swiss roll, but we never got to it.
We had a lovely white Bourgogne alongside.
