I was able to stretch one large chicken breast into 2 meals (4 servings).
Last night was Chicken & Pasta and tonight was Crispy Garlic Chicken (Jaime Oliver recipe), leftover pasta with cream of mushroom soup and green beans.

The rillette looks good - how much is the jar at Maison Nico ?
It was good! It cost $13.50.
Tonight I got brown rice, kimchi, scallops, surf clam, salmon, and mackerel sashimi. Other nights, I get their chirashi or salmon don. There have also been nights I get a bunch of maki, often salmon and avocado, asparagus, and/or futo maki. BF tends to get the same thing most Fridays - the nigiri deluxe, which is 7 pieces of nigiri and a spicy tuna maki. He adds on an extra spicy salmon maki.
We had homemade focaccia with onions, sage, and Parmesan, with salami, cheese, peppers, and olives (and an olive oil, Parmesan, garlic, and red pepper dipping sauce). Rosé for me and IPA for him.
Went simple for tonight’s dinner: Aldi’s Colossal Black Tiger Shrimp sprinkled with olive oil, s/p, and dried lemon zest with minced shallots, garlic, and white wine for a sauce.
Served it on reheated lemon risotto (just to get it out out of the fridge) and steamed asparagus.
Wine.
I was too tired to cook tonight so I got a Mediterranean pizza from a local pizza joint (The Colonnade for those who are familiar with Ottawa). Toppings include artichoke hearts, black olives, red pepper and feta.
Dessert was chai hot chocolate and stroopwafel.
You peeps and your pizzas are just killing me. I’m trying (TRYING) to go low carb, but all my pizzas keep calling to me…
Maybe I need to avoid this thread. Ahem. Um.
We spent the better part of the day in Fishtown, where we snacked our way through a lovely street festival. Heading to the subway back home we passed a fabulous bakery & practically had to try some of their breads: a seedy sourdough and a Homadama. Here we are, hoarding loaves again, but thankfully we still have some room in the freezer
We were therefore in desperate need of cheeses & prosciutto, which we picked up in our nabe.
Dinner was a few slices of the seedy sourdough,
Raschera & Bamboozle — a wonderful goat/cow’s milk cheese from PA’s award-winning Goat Rodeo Dairy,
the last slices of the smoked steelhead trout & San Daniele,
marinated anchovies,
poached shrimp with cocktail sauce, and capers & chive cream cheese,
and wild red arugula with lemon dressing & parm.
No fuss & delish. The bakeries here are a delight. Wine pairing was a cheapo CA Riesling from TJ’s.
Horror flick coming up for dessert…
Wagyu filet of beef on the Big Green Egg. Leftover mac and cheese. Cukes marinated in rice-vinegar, honey, and sesame oil. Tomato slices.
Some (but not all) of the very last few cukes and tomatoes from this year’s garden.
We enjoyed another outstanding dinner at The Farmer’s Daughter in Newton, NJ, including lobster scampi over bucatini; petite filet mignon over white truffle hollandaise, and cheesy grits; scallop ceviche; roasted apple, blue cheese, walnut, and honey crostini; escargot. It all went great with a couple of excellent cabernets.
Pizza Saturday. Margherita with extras . Small tomatoes. Thank you neighbors. Agostino Recca anchovies. Shaved pecorino Toscano. Cheers.
Another beautiful pizza @John !!
Pinoy Food is pretty great stuff.
Lots of things to try, most are delicious!
Love them. I should open some to doctor up my next not-made-from-scratch pizza.
Their menu is very small, but everything we got to try was great. That’s why we hope to return with @Bigley9 in tow… to try MOAR things
Many of us are thinking of you and wishing you the best! Be safe!
