We had a fairly smooth trip back…… that is, if you don’t count the security guy first telling me my bag for liquids was too big, then taking the sealed bottle of contact lens solution I’d purchased in CPH bc I was out & Monday is a holiday in Germany, telling me it was too much, and that I had to throw it out.
I got so frustrated about the whole thing – the money spent needlessly, the dumbass rule (I’ve never had issues taking these 120ml bottles in carry-on), and most of all wondering how to store my contacts until Tuesday… that I did what every self-respecting middle-aged woman would do: I started crying
That thankfully seemed to do the trick, as the security guy inspected the solution again, asked if this was “medical” (I confirmed), then let me take it. FFS
Our connections in Berlin were dandy, and so our OG plan was to hit up a dumpling place up the road. However, once we were showered and got laundry going, we were feeling lazy & instead ordered delivery from a hand-pulled noodle place nearby. It now has 3 branches after starting out in our hood a couple of years ago, and each one has lines around the block. We’ve been meaning to try it, but won’t stand on line for food.
Delivery came within 15 min of ordering: biang biang noodz with lamb & cumin, 2 chili pepper hot (perfect!), and smashed cukes.
After very good but also very mild-flavored foods the last few days, this really hit the spot, and we didn’t even have to get out of our jammies
I def want to try the noodz with eggplant, and we’d absolutely get the lamb & cumin noodz again as well.
Now it’s time for a proper martini made by my dearest, and a Mads Mikkelsen movie cuz we miss that lovely language already
