I always said root beer tasted like carbonated pepto–bismol. Rather abismol, IYAM
Looks like that the ice cream actually doesn’t contain any teaberry but the color comes from Red40 (which finally will get banned in some states starting 2028) and the flavor is artificial
Ohhh, but root beer floats are the bomb!
Yup. Carbonated pepto-bismol bombs.
ART-isinal for sure!
Try Pepcid-Complete for GERD!
Pear, hazelnut and chestnut spread tart, I added a little rum to the chestnut spread which was a plus. This was made a couple days ago but I will likely have another go at it this afternoon. Maybe with a switch up of caramel sauce and a different nut. This is a keeper for us, the 4” tart makes two generous servings, a scoop of crème fraîche or ice cream wouldn’t hurt.
Oh, my! Be still my heart
The sister-in-law regifted me an ice cream maker, specifically the Cuisinart ICE-20, a very basic “freeze the insert” style with a 1.5 qt capacity.
I have always maintained I would NEVER buy such a machine, the odds being I’ll use it a few times and never again, OR I’ll use it so much my health will suffer. But if I’m GIVEN one? Well, it would be churlish not to TRY, right?
And considering this was, explicitly, a regift, (They got it. Used it once. Lost interest) I feel like I’m saving it from the landfill, or a sad existence on a thrift shop shelf.
To that end, we have a Meyer lemon tree that’s just loaded w fruit at the moment so:
Homemade lemon sorbet. Worked perfectly. 1 cup ea water / sugar. 1.5 cups lemon juice. Zest of one lemon. Dissolve sugar in liquid. Add zest. Chill. Add to machine and away you go.
This came out a TOUCH sweet, probably because these lemons are particularly sweet. No matter. Will cut down sugar next time.
And it sure beats the price when Hagen daaz lemon sorbet is 4.99 on sale, 6.99 regular price.
Will have to see if raspberries (or berry juice concentrate) maths out.
Pretty sure that is the one I have. Works great for what it is. Your sorbet looks great!
Yup, I also have the ICE-20, and it’s very serviceable for a frozen-canister machine.
That’s the one I have and love.

Oooooooo…. Thank you!
A gochujang cookie and a chili chocolate cookie from my Secret Santa
The gochujang is pretty mild, not surprisingly, but the other packs a serious punch!
Oh look at you with your fancy, fuzzy photo! Paula would be impressed.
Aw you just jelly bruv.
