Picked up a new-to-me rosemary and salt bagel at Wegmans yesterday. Hadn’t seen them before. Lightly toasted, with a healthy schmear of Wegmans cream cheese on both halves.
Ate the bottom half first; rosemary was subtle, but definitely there. Top half was salt-forward, with barely-there hints of rosemary. My sister said a thin slice of tomato would be good, but I wanted to try it as-is with just cream cheese.
I don’t follow a recipe. I just use two thirds of a cup of skim milk and one third of a cup of oatmeal then stir together, cover, then place in the fridge overnight. I use skim milk but you can use the milk of your choice and it would probably taste nice with a little cinnamon sprinkled on top.
Experiments, 2 half-recipes, with dried shredded hash browns, rehydrated in the carton overnight in the refrigerator (a great hint for faster morning prep times). Egg nests, using rehydrated hash browns, baked in silicon muffin pans then filled with cooked scrambled egg/cheese and baked again to melt cheese. Topped with bacon pieces. I also made 4 small Mexican blend cheese potato pizza crusts / flavorful potato pancake base for toppings. I think I’d use that more flavorful combo in the muffin pans next time, in hopes the added raw egg and shredded cheese will give stronger structure to the nests.
A delectable brat in a terrible bun with good kraut and decent mustard at the downtown fall festival. The food options were limited & it was very family oriented, so we didn’t stick around long
Until next time 2 can dine for $11.99
Sausage and egg McMuffin and a small coffee with cream, one for now, one for later(just the sammich and hash brown)..
