What's for breakfast? (2025)

Everything bagels with scallion cream cheese, cold-smoked BC silver salmon, garden cukes, and pickled scallions. There was gazpacho.

Thank you? (I don’t speak Greek so I hope that’s a compliment  )

Finnish

Sisu means “strength of will” apparently, and kiitos means “thanks.”

Not sure about the connection to the green smoothie, tho

I think the smoothie has the word SISU printed on it.

Yes it does but that’s a brand name of supplements. I bought a container of their whey protein powder a few years ago and was given a shaker when I purchased it. It was a promotion they were running at the time.

I just looked up their website (www.sisu.com) and it says sisu is a Finnish word for inner strength. At the end of the “about” section they say their supplements can release our inner strength. I’m not sure if my inner strength is any stronger but my smoothie tasted good

Cheat breakfast this morning, I’ve been a good boy :innocent:
Apple fritter warmed in the M/W for 35 seconds and a bog standard Tim’s coffee.
#BOC!

Yes, I saw

Nothing hits quite like a warm apple fritter.

Not the best fritter I’ve ever had, but it did the trick.

MunchkinRedux, what makes your gazpacho special? I’m on the lookout for a great one.

My fave is the NYT version (gift link here). Blitzing the heck out of it in a good blender until smooth, and then straining, IMO, takes it up a notch. My other tweak - hot sauce (and don’t skimp on the sherry vinegar). :yum:

The New Forest is a local ancient forest which has some adjoining farms. The baked white chocolate granola provided a great textural contrast.
