What's for breakfast? (2025)

Whole wheat muffins - warm from the oven - with blueberries and almonds. A strawberry and sour-cherry smoothie.

Frozen strawbs and cherries from our garden.

Breakfast at 2:30pm. If I keep this schedule up, my dinner time should be around midnight soon

Kinda, this yogurt isn’t low fat

Fat’s good for ya, didn’t ya hear? I use 2% Fage tho cuz I find the 5% a lil too rich.

Technically breakfast as in breaking my (accidental) fast at 5:30 pm, which I think qualifies more as a linner, but we don’t have a thread for that.

I slept in, took my time with coffee, then didn’t feel like yogurt before leaving, so between catching my friend perform at a ski lodge with a crowd that could not have been more sedate if they tried & heading to the movies now to see an early showing of Nosferatu, I managed to toast a couple of homadama slices & top them with smashed avocado. Seasoned with lemon juice, s&p.

Decided it needed chicken.

I couldn’t resist making another apple crumble with the last 3 Fuji apples from our 2024 garden harvest. I added a few Granny Smith. So good! Here with full-fat yogurt, and a mandarin orange.

I have a dozen or so of the Grannies left. I think I’ll make brandied apples with them (canning project).

Such great memories of our mother’s homemade blackberry syrup and wearing a napkin under our chins to protect our clothes.

I haven’t had pancakes in some time. I was craving them (and the berry syrup). They were so good, and hit the spot! :heart_eyes_cat:

Sautéed KOS with a “poached” egg. First 30 sec: too spoogy. Added another 10. Still not done. Added another 5. BOOM — another perfectly cooked HBE

Mayhaps I should finally accept my fate that the goddesses do NOT want me to have poached eggs at home. #fuckerz

At least the shroomz were tasty.

Maybe try a lower power setting (if the microwave has one)? You may have more control over the finished product. Vastly improved my microwave nachos!

It does not, unfortunately. I mean — I do love scrambled eggs, SBEs, fried, omelets… maybe I should finally take the hint
