Btw, when my PIC and I were at the supermarket yesterday and he seemed to be heading to the cereal aisle, I asked him if he was out of geezer buds. He almost lost his ish laughing.

I’ve grown to really like the geezer buds, can’t eat overly sweet cereal anymore and I can add whatever I want to enhance the flavour 
. I tried their “twigs and sticks “ flavour, but they were pretty gross 
I’ve not had cereal (frosted flakes for the most part) since childhood 
And my PIC can have all the geezer buds in the house

Pecan waffles with gifted WI maple syrup. A friend taps his 40 maple trees on his WI vacation land each spring and boils the sap down for syrup. Only rarely does he yield enough to gift some, and I was honored to get a small jug of vintage 2024. Waffles used my husband’s family pancake mix recipe (below). They owned a grain mill in Iowa and packaged and sold the mix as well as flours, locally.

Iowa Family Pancake and waffle mix
2 C unbleached flour
1/3 C corn flour (finely ground corn meal)
1/4 C whole wheat flour (also finely ground)
2-3 tsp Baking powder per cup of dry ingredients (flour, corn meal, whole
wheat) ( note - this is 2 Tbl plus 1 ½ tsp.)
1 tsp salt
1-2 Tbl sugar (I use2 Tbl).
When you make the pancakes
per 1 C (me) or 2 C (sister-in-law) of flour mix
add 1 egg
add 1C milk
optional - add raw wheat germ-- about 2 T to the flour mix
For waffles – light and tender
1 cup mix
1 egg
1 Tbl. vegetable oil
1 cup milk
about ½ cup of batter will fill most waffle makers.
optional - add 1/4 C chopped pecans to batch or about 4 pecans per waffle square as you pour each

Needed to use up some bananas and at 1 a.m. when I couldnt fall asleep, I looked up banana pancakes. Made them this morning.
