Congee with fixin’s.

Kinda overloaded on the add ons. Between the wife and I, we wiped out the pay don (century egg). Staff was quick to replenish for our 2nd round.

  • Fried Dace with Black Bean was an unusual option. Nice :+1:

A friend of ours from Gainesville was spending his last day in town before heading north for speaking engagements / research, and he wanted to get together for brunch. I picked a cute Israeli café in our hood, Masel Topf (a play on words that doesn’t translate). The server was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, and the food very good: latke breakfast for our buddy,

eggs Benny for my PIC that came with house-cured salmon and perfectly ripe avocado on brioche,

and pastrami salmon atop a latke with dill cream for me.

I was experiencing a bit of Bennvy, TBH  — thankfully, my PIC let me have a few bites

The Rachel or Pacific Reuben / California Reuben/ Georgia Reuben is a Turkey Reuben. Wondering if a term for a Chicken Reuben exists.

I hadn’t heard of a Dinty Moore sandwich until today.

There’s nothing more efficient to get my BP up than finding an ‘automated’ message in my inbox accusing me of “posting spam” on this very site, where I’ve been a contributing member for almost a decade. It would be amusing if it weren’t so pitiful.

What better way to calm my nerves than another delightful breakfast in our Berlin pad, lovingly prepared by my dear PIC: SBEs, assorted cheeses (Taleggio, Chaumes, the last of the Roschera, and a new-to-us Sardinian pecorino), San Daniele ham, and wonderful seeded spelt rolls (frozen, but they bake up fabulously). Milk & OJ to warsh it all down :yum:

A beautiful reminder to focus on the good things in life  :dancer: :rainbow:

Any idea what post it was?

It was a book recommendation. I reposted it, unless my idea of ‘spam’ vastly differs from this website’s definition of it I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I’m just stunned any posters on this site would flag that post when I have been a contributing and active member for close to a decade, and have never posted any spam here. Ever.

It’s a real mystery.

Maybe somebody meant to “like” it? the two are right next to each other, and I live in fear of accidentally flagging something!!

Oh, trust. This was fully intentional.

But neither you nor I should waste more than a second to understand our fellow members’ motivations

Went to the weekly organic market nearby where we picked up our favorite sourdough, a couple more cheeses, smoked halibut & butterfish to class up our traditional Berlin breakfast.

SBEs, San Daniele, smoked fishies with lotsa sharp horseradish, and a lovely cheese plate w/Landrahm (a favorite cream cheese & scallion concoction prepared by a local chain that is as addictive as it is expensive), Schabziger Kleekäse (cheese with fenugreek), Maiweide (a young but aromatic cheese made from the first milking in May), a chunka Taleggio, a hunka Chaumes, and a pecorino.

Here’s a triple cheese roll with Landrahm, Schabziger Kleekäse, and Maiweide :yum:

I absolutely  our breakfasts here.

IKR? We NEVER have breakfast like that at home :frowning:

There it’s yogurt & berries, with the occasional scramble and/or bacon thrown in. Meh.
