What’s on your mind?

Happy you got to visit out this way, have good weather and experience the wonderful market. I love to recognize landmarks in pictures, or something that jogs a memory about places I’ve been. Glad the pic sparked pleasant memories, Linda.

Apropos of something that popped up in a thread just now, and actually everywhere, all the time, I am just so everlastingly grateful my name’s not Karen!! For those of you who may have that name, my sympathies. I’d immediately become a Kari, I think. (Had a good friend named Karen, always thought it was a pretty name, and am dismayed it got hijacked.) But the meme is here to stay, I think, and forever…that said, since it’s taken hold, everyone knows immediately the intent, and it is a funny phenomenon, albeit at the expense of Karen’s everywhere.
I also have a name that is frequently used with an alliterative adjective that serves as a perjorative, and (mildly) irritates me when my friends use it. Similar to Chatty Cathy, but different name & letter of the alphabet :scream_cat: Ok, got that off my chest - whew. Time for a glass of wine now! It’s all good.

that is so amazing! where are you located? I remember seeing black bear behind the Yosemite National Park’s restaurant in 1968 . They were friendly and were peeping at us as we dined.
My baby Luna just. had bilateral patellar subluxation surgery commonly found as congenital defect in Pomeranians , esp female and smaller breed, Here is a video of her at PT under water treadmill. My god, it cost $100/30 minutes session but she had only 2 sessions, each lasting 5 and 6 minutes and she got tired. So, I had some credit given… Well, it is not allowing me to upload as it is a video.

I suspect they were friendly because people were feeding them and they are looking for more handouts.

Personally I would not go in bear country without a .44 magnum. I did a little research and the best way to stop a charging bear is well placed .44 rounds to the nose. Good luck with that.

That was taken at my cabin in Wisconsin in the Chequamegon National Forest.

The mother started bringing the her two cubs and would lounge around. I believe the mother has since been killed but the cubs have been doing fine. A few months ago I was watching them relax and play when they became suddenly alert. A few minutes later a male came out of the trees and the cubs scampered up a tree and out onto a branch. The male was too big to follow so he lounged beneath their trees for a long time then moved on. Shortly thereafter the cubs came down and wandered on too.

An unannounced surprise awaited me on the porch this morning, courtesy of our kind neighbor.

The pattern on the rim of the bowl tells me who left these darling tomatoes. @gcaggiano, you’ll see that Corelle is having a moment in my neighborhood!

What a truly lovely surprise.

Thankfully not a grocery-sized bag of zucchini, which is what usually appears on porches right around now in New England.

I may eat on Corelle tonight again to keep it going.

Lock down started today. No cycling from tomorrow for me.

Oh no! Sorry to hear this. Is cycling prohibited in order to maintain social distancing?

It’s curfew. No one is allowed out. Factory workers get a licence but that’s all. I’ll get one chance to go out, to get the second dose of vaccine though.

Your government really takes things seriously. In the USA many people would have a fit! At least some are about waring masks. I can only imagine how they would respond to a curfew. I see you are from Sir Lanka. My husband and I were just last night trying to decided where we should travel to when we can. For some reason I threw Sir Lanka out there as an idea. Maybe because I had a few friends from Sir Lanka. They were very kind people and I loved their Mom’s cooking. If they and their Mom’s food are in anyway representative of Sir Lanka I’m bound to enjoy myself. I understand it is beautiful. Anyway, I’m enjoying reading your website. We will not be traveling anytime soon but should we decide on Sir Lanka, I’m sure I will have found it useful. Thank You.

I think your autocorrect might be sabotaging you. It’s Sri Lanka. Not Sir.

Sure, lets blame auto correct. That is a kind assumption on your part but I think I was just not paying attention. I’m going to blame the weed laced piece of chocolate I ate.

I thought it would be better to blame technology than anything you yourself did. I guess blaming chemistry is just as good, though!

Isn’t blame avoidance what makes the world go ‘round?

I’m lost understanding why I commit so many typographical and grammatical errors anymore. It’s as if I’m steadily returning to my teachers everything they ever taught me. I claim to be ESL without a primary language.

You can take Iowa out of the kid, but not the kid out of Iowa?
