Which specific sandwiches do you guys recommend at Firehouse or Jersey Mike’s?
This is why Subway’s meatball marinara is the sandwich I order there.
My main issue is that too often the bread in these places sucks; Subway included. I’ll never get the bread we had from our local delis where I grew up.

Does Shake Shack really qualify as fast food? Never been remotely near one.
They describe themselves as fast casual.

I would call it fast food. It started as a hot dog cart. The food is eaten out of hand. And there’s no table service - I think “fast casual” has servers.

Hardly. If the World’s Greatest Cook (that would be Mom) always ordered it when we took her to MCD, who are we to argue. By the way, she loved the fries, especially with the guacamole that could once be ordered in a container to accompany the various chicken offerings when the menu was so much larger pre-lockdown days.

Does Wawa count as a fast food chain?
If it does, I think it’s Gobbler hoagie is a damn fine rift on Thanksgiving leftovers cum sandwich.

The couple of Shake Shacks I’ve been to were very much the same as most ‘better’ fast food places. Here in SoCal I’d compare them closely to The Habit.

I have tried Shake Shack’s a few times and like them a lot. I haven’t been to Habit yet. Someone recently just told me that they like Shake Shack’s quality, but not their price and think Habit is better in this regard.
Habit is my favorite: the meat tastes like meat without fillers & the burger in general is delicious to me! I don’t eat them often, but totally enjoy when I do
