I’m all in for anything that calls for heavy cream
Yeah, well, I could find Mr Peabody and Sherman and hitch a ride in the Wayback Machine …or try to remember what various people confessed to me about their adventures. The world will have to await the writing of my memoirs: Shirley Temple in Sodom and Gomorrah.
. Oh no …
Aperol Spritz ready-to-drink. I’ve previously rolled my own (somewhere upthread). Decided to try these.
A bit sweeter than I remember my homemade one, but not bad. Certainly no waste.
An Amaretto Sour, because why not?
Water. Plain old water. Adam’s Ale. Delicious but very strange accompaniment to a great meal.
It’s Hump Day, so I’m in a celebratory mood…never mind that it’s also been well over two weeks since my last martini (!) due to that pesky sinus infection. But today I was ready.
Bluecoat, Noilly Prat, orange bitters. Deeee-lovely
Sichuan peanuts for the perfect snack pairing.
Spicy snack + Excellent martini = A perfect pairing.
Today, I treated myself to a Toffee Hazelnut Milk Tea from Mixue Malaysia, and it was absolutely delightful… Mixue has a great menu with a variety of options. If you love trying new drinks, their Peach Jasmine Tea and Brown Sugar Boba Milk are also must-tries!
Good to know.
I haven’t ordered any boba lately. I like the milk teas, brown sugar boba, and passionfruit boba
Let me guess…PIC’s fabulous 'tini. It always looks so simple, yet so seductive. Too bad I can’t do that anymore😥
I’ve significantly cut down on hard liquor, and my PIC’s really is almost 1.5 martinis in one glass
Thats been plenty for me.
Rainy day means time for an Apple Sidecar:
- 1 1/2 oz. apple brandy (I used a mix of Calvados and Laird’s Applejack)
- 3/4 oz. Cointreau
- 3/4 oz. Meyer lemon juice
- Cinnamon sugar
Rim a cocktail glass with cinnamon sugar. Shake the brandy, Cointreau, and lemon juice with ice and strain into the rimmed glass. Garnish with an apple slice.
Reindeer’s Tail, courtesy of the East Bay Times:
- 2 oz. dark rum (I used Gosling’s Black Seal)
- 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz. allspice dram
- 1/4 oz. Demerara syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura (or other aromatic bitters)
Shake over ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
A delicious and warming Armagnac after dinner.
Sort of a cross between a Sidecar and a Final Ward/Last Word:
3/4 oz Khazak brandy
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz Maraschino
3/4 oz Faccia Brutto (Chartreuse is impossible here)
I was out of gin and bourbon/rye so made up this variation. Really nice!
Tried a homemade ginger and turmeric tea today—super refreshing and soothing!
