Jessie Sheehan has a new book out Tuesday that I sounds as if it’ll have instant appeal for some of you.
Oh heck yes!
On Friday I received 100 Afternoon by Sarah KIieffer
I was a surprise because release day is Oct 2. This is a birthday present. The recipes in this book is a little more complex than the other 2 snacking cake cookbooks i have. There are chapters on one bowl baking, brownies, blondies and bars, pie bakes, no bakes, for the crowd, weekend projects, a nice chapter on buttercreams and different doughs plus a chapter on extras like different creams. Overall its a very nice book. I just have to let my crowd get over the weekend birthday cake.
EYB has indexed the Jessie Sheehan, and after a quick read through the titles — it sounds great! (I put in a library request, but there are 8 or 9 folks ahead of me and it’s still on order, so who knows when I’ll see it…)
@MunchkinRedux, this looks right up your alley.
Oh, thanks for this! I took a look when you first posted about it (savory baking!), and am eager to read some reviews. Your initial recommendation means a lot.
Just bought 2 of these from Costco, has my favorite British style scone recipe. It’s $40 on Amazon.
(Second one is a gift for a 13 year old who isn’t afraid to try new recipes!)
I can barely lift it!
thanks, Caitlin! I have it on hold at my Greater Boston Area library, too, 12 copies on order, 41 people on the wait list.
SF: One copy, 2 ahead of me.
I just gave in to temptation and pre-ordered this.
Looking forward to your report.

I’ve decided to return one because the book is too heavy, hard to handle. Also, I’m put off by their use of gelatin in meat recipes.
I’ll still give the other one as a gift to a young girl.
That’s very sweet!
I received 100 Afternoon Treats by Sarah Kieffer last week. It looks good, but today, on her website she posted a whole lot of error corrections. Thats annoying.
At least she’s acknowledging the errors and correcting them!
I’m eyeballing the new bread book from King Arthur. When digital becomes avail. on sale.
Yes, so many other cookbook authors and publishers never post errata.
I had decided I could do without this book, but now I’m going to have to rethink this.
Curious about J.J. Johnson’s The Simple Art of Rice after watching him on a Daily Show segment on YouTube. My library has it and I’m #3 on the hold list.
