I loved that film. Especially the music by Enya
I loved Shepherd Moons when it came out, but I don’t listen to her anymore.
L.A. Story has a bunch of very quotable scenes, like the one where Steve Martin brags that “some of these buildings are over 50 yrs old” to his British love interest.
And the name of the exclusive restaurant, L’Idiot! Pronounced Lidio
Maybe, I’ll have to look that one up. It was said that the main character, a woman, was rattling off recipes to her therapist. I thought that amusing.
Yeah, sounds like Mostly Martha from 2001.
great rec!
i’ll watch anything with Seehorn in it. i thought the first two Pluribus episodes where near masterpieces. fairly high praise, as i consider the pilot to Breaking Bad near the best first episodes of all time.
i have no idea where this is going and i’m happy to take that ride.
Might have to convince my PIC to start on this tonight, now that we’re done with Slow Horses and Giri/Haji.
It can’t be all Taskmaster, all the time ![]()
Of course, we have a South Park epi to catch up on, and tonight’s Simpson’s, too ![]()
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Rhea Seehorn has to be the most underrated actress out there. She is brilliant here.
Thank you! I just put it on hold at the library. Did you see it and what did you think?
Fluff. Didn’t blow my mind, but it’s also been eons since I’ve seen it ![]()
Halfway through this and finding it pretty good. Continuing my Norn Irn theme after finishing Blue Lights!
We just started Task last night. I was finding it very ominous, and then halfway through there was some political news, and we had to turn it off and just start yelling.
If you enjoyed Mare of Easttown, you’ll like this.
It doesn’t get more Pennsyltuckian than those two…
Was it the “60-40” political news? If yes, I was cursing like a sailor this morning.
Hopefully you can get back to watching Task in the future. You might have to give it a few episodes.
I did, and that’s why I started it. But Task doesn’t have Jean Smart, so it will not be as good!
So you say now.
Why yes, yes it was. However did you guess. I like Task already - I’m fine with slow starts. For some reason I keep referring to Mark Ruffalo as Steve Guttenberg, but that’s a me problem.
I think that Tom Pelphrey is the breakout star of Task.
Taking a wait & see attitude on that.
I thought he was very good, but Emilia Jones stood out to us even more.
Fabien Frankel was a little too reminiscent of a certain someone’s “Jr.”, which I found distracting (not that he can help his face
).
