Well that was different. It could be her makeup, but she’s cute. Also, is that a Chapman Stick?
ETA: I initially misread your post as “Miss Menudo Chile…”

You must be ready for lunch ![]()
When am I not?
Right? It’s up there with my favorite series finales.
I really enjoy watching Jonathan Pryce. “Brazil” is still a real mind bender for me. Thanks for the post!
Brazil has two different endings, one for the US market and another for the international and European market.
Just finished Giri/Haji. Started off pretty well but then went downhill from episode two on. I was hoping for more John Woo and less Isadora Duncan
Not my cuppa. 4/10 samurai swords ![]()
We just caught up with the final Downton Abbey movie on Peacock.
Any Downton Abbey fans will really enjoy it.
I totally forgot about it – thanks for the reminder!
Sure that’s gonna be the last one? ![]()
They’ve been milking it for seemingly forever.
We watched Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein with a couple of friend last night on our big (projector) screen.
It started off interestingly enough, with beautiful cinematography and the ‘story’ (what little there was of it) more in the spirit of the theme.
One small part of the dialog was really quite beautiful: “If death is not to be, then consider this my son, wherever you are alive, what recourse would you have but to live,” and the Creature stating, “Not something. Someone”.
A lot of meaning, atmosphere, and actors trying their darnedest to carry the movie, but I thought they failed ![]()
My PIC liked it, one friend fell asleep through most of it (to be fair, she generally goes to bed at 9pm, which was around the time we started it), the other friend loved it, but he was high as a kite, and I was pretty meh about it.
Glad we didn’t pay for movie tix. Meh.
I Love LA. My students are watching it, so I thought I should be informed. I will probably give it one more try, but I spent the first episode with my lip curled pretty much the whole time. You can see the strenuous effort to make these people likeable, but they’re just not. At least not in the first episode. I did enjoy seeing Blair from Gossip Girl, though, even under that weird new hair.
Note that I also hated Girls with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.
Gosh, for a hot sec I thought you were referring to the old Steve Martin flick (which I like a lot), but that’s L.A. Story, of course.
I’ve never heard of this show.
Not that (which I also love), and also not not Randy Newman song (which is in the first episode).
I wouldn’t put it past them to squeeze more blood out of a stone
They better hurry up before more of the original cast dies off.
I’m waiting for the crossover with The Gilded Age ![]()
I saw the first two episodes of Pluribus on Apple TV. It’s from the brilliant mind of Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and X-Files fame. It’s a cross between Body Snatchers, The Twilight Zone and WTF?? ![]()
People are either going to love it or hate it. I suspect most people here will hate it
Rhea Seehorn is fantastic, and the main reason for watching it. It is beautifully filmed, but can be a little slow paced at times, with stretches of up to 15 minutes without any dialogue at all. One thing for sure is that there is nothing like this currently on TV now.
On our list! Love Gilligan & Seahorn ![]()
I heard a review of an older movie this morning on the radio. Apparently it is German and is about food. The movie is about a woman, a chef?, and is NOT ‘No Reservations’. That’s all I was able to pick up. Any ideas?
Mostly Martha?
It’s ok.
