I picked up TJ’s snacks for my election workers team:
Cranberry-orange scones
Dried mango
Honeycrisp apples
Hummus
Pretzel thins
Corn dippers (aka big Fritos)
Homestyle refrigerated salsa
Bubbly water
Thinking quick stuff we can shove in our mouths if we get a breather.

One of my favorite Trader Joe’s snacks is the salted pumpkin seeds.
I always pick up a bag or two when I fly or have a long trip.
A few years ago, I was flying cross-country and picked up two bags. For some reason, I got pulled out of line and the TSA agent went through my carry-on. When he saw my salted pumpkin seeds from TJ’s he told me he really liked them and commented how good they were. So I gave him one of my two bags to munch on. I guess they have bad days too and a little snack helped get the guy through his shift.

I am also Judge of Elections for my division. Im thinking its going to be very busy. People keep stopping me on the street to ask what time we open, what time we close, etc.

Our committee people will get us pizza or some such take out for lunch with leftovers for dinner. I am making a pot of white beans right now for a NYT White Bean and Fennel Casserole for when I get home - or, if my better self doesnt prevail I’ll go to the bar up the street for a good burger and a manhattan made by someone other than me. The White beans will be fine on Wednesday!

Chronic pain is a good analogy. I’ve had a lot of chronic pain (three joint replacements) and it definitely reduces my appetite. I need to come up with some fairly simple food that’s comfort for me.

In the UK, 5 November is Bonfire Night - fires lit, fireworks set off. We celebrate a failed plot, in 1605, by Catholic terrorists (other interpretations may apply) to blow up Parliament and the King.
