Very nice for your HO pals to see this too.
Thank you! Y’all are such a supportive bunch on this thread, how could I not?
He also just demanded to sit on my PIC’s chair for the first time since we got back
I don’t want to get my hopes up too much until we know more, but it’s just so nice to see him a lil closer to his former self
A-ha! I see you’re fluent!
Side eyein’ snake in the grass!
The vet got back to us. It’s the #1 pet killer: cancer. Probably metastatic.
An ultrasound is scheduled for Thursday to see just how bad it is, and whether our boy can live a comfortable, happy life for a couple more years with steroids.
I was trying not to get my hopes up too high (or count on a heart thing, which is far more treatable in the long run), but he’d perked up over the weekend and even wanted to hang out in bed with me for my morning coffee today.
Needless to say, we are absolutely heartbroken.
I’m so sorry for this terrible news! I hope he still has some quality time left.
Oh dear. I am so sorry to hear about that diagnosis. Wishing you more cuddles with your little guy.
Oh, no! I’m sorry to hear about this. Sending positive thoughts for you and kitty!
I’m so heartbroken for you at this horrible news. But I do hope there are many more morning coffee cuddles in store for you both.
My daughter’s cat had cancer, she took him to a vet specializing in cancer treatments, spent $3,000 on chemo treatments and he got well and lived a happy life about 3 more years, then died suddenly of kidney failure.
Oh no I’ m so sorry to hear this devastating news.
I’m praying that the cancer was caught in the early stages, and your baby can live a few more comfortable years.
This had not been a good week for felines
I know you’ve just been through a horrible ordeal with Gucci! It never, ever, EVER is enough time with them, and it never gets any easier. I’m not sure I can do this again TBH, and my admiration for friends who adopt senior pets knows no limits.
Ohmigosh.
Just big hugs to all of you going through loss and unwelcome news.
Cheeks and I send fluffy cuddles (he’s miffed that I woke him up)
I’m so sorry.
Oh, no. I’m sure that’s the last thing you wanted to hear. I hope the news is as good as it gets, and he has plenty more time to spend with you.
Know that many of us have been through this, we know how difficult it is, and we are sending you strength and positive vibes.
That is terrible news. I’m so very sorry. I hope the ultrasound results give you a lot of time for cuddles.
Oh so sorry to hear!
My heart is broken reading of our fur buddy passings and illnesses.
It is so hard to heal the heart. Remember the best👍
More Info: Orson was about 7 when she adopted him from SPCA. About 6 months later discovered the thyroid cancer. No chemo, he had radioactive iodine therapy. He lived at least 4 healthy years after that.
We’ll know more after the diagnostic ultrasound scheduled for Thur morning.
In the meantime, my poor boy is getting weaker and weaker bc he is barely eating, despite the appetite stimulant “working” in that he clearly ‘wants’ food, but something is stopping him from eating more than a kibble or two. And the anti-nausea pill he got yesterday did nothing but make him even more groggy. It is so frustrating to watch and feel absolutely helpless, bc what else is there to do but wait?
At least he is still drinking water.
