When I was in high school, one of our cats ran into the house with her head in a broken mayonnaise jar. We had to call the local vet to come over to whack it off. Scary! And thatâs when we decided I should get a summer job as his assistant since we had five cats and three dogs at the time. Loved it for the most part!
When I had a little dog and 2 cats, it helped when I dated a vet for a while. Boy, was he an expert at pilling. Would have been great to have dated a mechanic too!
My first Frenchie used to love playing with big plastic containers. His favorite was a large plastic Costco sized empty open Folgerâs coffee container. He would grab the rim and run around with it. The container was so big he couldnât see where he was going and would occasionally run into walls
This was taken 9 years ago with an old iPad so itâs not the best quality.
Thatâs a doggo with a purpose in life!

That tongue!
It is my goal to come back as Matisse in my next life.
Matisse is livinâ the life we all wish we could.
What a sweet Boy. Do you think he misses Gucci?
Maybe I shouldnât say this but when you lose the only pet person you have it can be heartbreaking. Like us. Just the one. Now youâve got Matisse to provide a little solace. I hope that helps. Two different personalities between the two Iâm sure. Talk over the good & bad times at the puppy stage. You and Ms. P should get a good laugh over that. Memories. Thatâs whatâs life is all about.
Yes, we are still in shock over the sudden loss of Gucci, but are very fortunate to have a very healthy and active Matisse to ease the pain a little. He is a real handful, but such a joy. We actually had a bowl of doggie frozen yogurt on the table as a treat, but he jumped on the table, and knocked the whole scoop of yogurt on the floor, and ate the whole scoop at once. He must have gotten some brain freeze from that It happened so fast that I couldnât even get a picture.
I still wake up every morning expecting to see Gucci outside our bedroom door, waiting for his morning scratches and breakfast. Mrs. P thought she even heard a meow this morning.
So sorry to hear this news
Thank you.
This seems to be the mood with our critters today. Pet sitting for Milo, the Boston Terror, I mean terrier lol.
I do wonder whether our dear pets can tell the difference between a big thunderstorm and fireworks
One we have no influence on, the others happen only on very limited occasions. Good friends of ours have a very sensitive whippet who canât be consoled at even the slightest sound of thunder, the poor thing shaking like a leaf despite pheromone blankets and lots of lovinâ.
My good old border collie, Sneak, ran to hide in the bathtub at the first crackle of fireworks.
We donât get much thunder here, so I donât know if it bothered him. He lived to be 18.
Fireworks donât bother my current border collie at all.
