“Mom, help me pick out a toy!”
Still some in the coffee pot!
DETENTE!!! First day that the little guy has been given full roaming privileges. There’s been a gate up for a long time, so my beautiful old girl knows about The Other Cat. I went and got her and brought her in the bedroom for some serious cuddling, and put the little guy out to explore. Then I reversed them. Finally, I opened the door and stood by for warfare - that didn’t happen!
Old gal is on the left. Little Ziggy is on the right. He just went right in the basket and settled down. She didn’t fight. I see that they’re not touching, but I hope snuggling ensues. She misses her little brother and really needs kitty companionship. Z loves snuggling, so I am hopeful …
We have to be very quiet in the morning these days, bc Chonk’s developed the habit of screaming at us the moment one of us makes a peep. He hollers from outside our bedroom door, then gets on the bed and literally walks over our heads… just in case we forgot we have a cat.
It’s not because his food bowl is empty — it rarely ever is, thus his… voluptuousness — he just would like everyone in the household to be UP RIGHT NOW BC he needs attention. Or something like that.
He does this at home, too, but at least there we have the option of closing the bedroom door, which is moot at our pad here bc the bedroom walls don’t go all the way up
Between the morning hollering, and us stepping on cat litter all damn day long, we’re kinda ready to be back in our house TBH
I’ve always said I’d love to be a cat in my next life since all they do is eat and sleep And get patted of course…
IF you luck out with your ‘owner.’ Chonks’s really hit the jackpot with us, but it seems like all the kittehs here on HO are pretty lucky in that regard
I want!
In my next life I’m coming back as one of my own cats.
Chonkster was SO HAPPY to have us back… after having been gone exactly 46 hours
He came running to the door, would not shut up for a good 10 min, had to head-butt me about a million times, get brushed & played with — before getting all puffy-tailed and flying through our pad with the zoomies… finally crowned by a welcome pee. At least there was no puke
I love him so
It’s hard work … Ziggy almost killed beanbag Mousie, who had survived for close to 30 years … but a telltale smattering of little beads led me to the nearly fatally wounded Mousie, who is now in the Yeti Tumbler ICU awaiting an emergency shipment of fabric glue. And enrollment in the Witness Protection Program.
Mousie #2 has been deployed (It’s like Air Force 1 and Air Force 2) as a backup. Z’s older sister was last seen fleeing the carnage and hiding in her little cat condo.
I once gave a 6 month old puppy a feather pillow to sleep on (he had seemed to calm down) and came downstairs to approximately 50 million feathers. Really, I could only blame myself…
You thought it was a pillow: Pup thought it was a toy!
Absolutely!
Seriously, there has been no reportable cuteness for five days???
How is this (although it’s from Sunday). Finny loves this lap blanket I sometimes drape over my legs while reading. He crawled under the top part of the blanket I had folded down and lay on top of my legs for about a half hour until my legs fell asleep and I pushed him off. LOL
Meanwhile, Murphy purred on the back of the couch near my head.
Excellent, thank you!
Well, this weekend we took the pup to see Santa.
She prefers not to slow her roll for the Jolly Old Elf. Santa gave it his best try.
P.S. She loves the ugly sweater = more attention from people. And some people have treats.
