Parker has a not so small obsession with butternut donuts from Dunkin Donuts.

My new kitty. RIP little Izzy. Your older sister just realized what’s up and she greeted him just like she greeted you - with a hiss.
Don’t worry - I zipped him into his shelter first.
He is so terrified - I stretched out on the bed (grueling drive home) and held him for an hour while I chatted on the phone - he was trembling but he fell asleep - he
He’s in a confined, safe space tonight with his food, litter box, and water, and a comfy soft bed.
He was very quiet for the 4 hour ride in his tricked-out cat shelter.
And here he is
I hope little Izzy guides him from the cat beyond.
Does he have a name yet?
He’s a cutie ![]()
Zolly. (from Zahlman).
What a total cutie ![]()
I need to change the name. He hates it. Alternatives: Ziggy (or David Bowie lol) or Minou (from my French friend. However, I’ve already linguistically been down that route. I had a cat named Pooska (Russian for kitty).
Chime in, please, but I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow. ![]()
I read once that they like hiss sounds, s or z, Max has that hiss.
After 8 years, I’m not 100% sure Darcy knows her name. Of course, since she’s a cat, not a dog, she doesn’t come when called.
My late Abby, Zoe, knew her name.
Many years ago, I knew a woman who named her dog “Amina”.
It translates to Safe one, protected, devoted, etc. I always thought that was a great name for a pet – cat or dog.
I like Ziggy!
What about Rajah?
How about Ketzel? Kitten in yiddish. There used to be an NPR journalist named Ketzel Levine and I always envied her name.
My cats have all known their names and have come when called - probably because it means food or rubs. So I’ve preserved the Z in his name, and we can hiss away. There is always the alternative moniker of NoNoBadCat - which is universal.
That’s what it is!
I got all excited when I saw this until I took a closer look. I thought you wrote “Minoru”, which happens to be my Japanese name.
Speaking of Japanese and in line with what we named our foster dog (“Neko”, meaning ‘cat’), I suggest you name him “Inu” (dog).
Did I miss something? Does he have a new name?
