Updates and running commentary from our critters

Thanks. We’ve been living with Aussies for almost 25 years. These guys are #4 & #5. I think I’ve asked you about your dog before - what breed do you have? I’ve never seen a dog like yours before. Such a beautiful coat.

I think his soul brother lives here.

He is an English setter rescue, our third setter and second rescue. They are not very common, but all three came from the same breeder! They are a great house dog. In their younger years they are all about chasing birds, but inside they are inert. They lie on the sofa and don’t even lift their heads when the doorbell rings and someone comes in. They are as docile as can be. Our 19 month old granddaughter climbs all over him and plays with his ears and flews. Hopps is twelve and still active outside. They are a fairly problem free and long lived breed. There are two chief kinds of English setters, field and bench (show). All three of ours have been bench. Field setters are smaller and more energetic.

His home base. He joins me every morning in bed while I have my coffee, and is fascinated with what’s going on on my screen :joy: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

But is he truly comfortable? We’ll never know…

Filet of cat.

A very, very, very fat filet of cat. I’m in awe every day that he can still propel himself onto the bed. For now.

My cat likes to sit in my lap when I’m at the desk with pc so I decided to show her birds flying/hopping on You Tube … totally fascinated.

Yeah, there’s a whole genre of videos for cats on youtube. Our chonkster is very fond of bapping and swatting at soccer players on the big tv screen

I REALLY gotta remember to close my walk-in closet. Chonky just loves lying on my summer clothes :joy: :heart_eyes_cat:

This is “Amber”, an adorable 14 year old mutt rescue whom was adopted by the friend I’m staying with. She has some health issues (joint and kidney problems) but is always trying to get me or her caretakers (neither her adopters or I am particularly thrilled with the term “owners”) to give her treats.

But when she looks so adoringly at me with those eyes of hers, I find it quite difficult to not give her one of the approved treats, a special dog biscuit. She was looking at me like this yesterday while I was eating dinner and was whimpering, too. I love her and want to share my people food, but her caretakers try very hard not to share such food and I do my utmost to abide by their rules.

They have another rescue, “Chai”, a 13 year old mutt who they adopted after her former caretaker passed away. I don’t have a photo of her to share, but I’ll try to get one in the near future.
