Updates and running commentary from our critters

Those are some swanky outfits for your boy! Also, his eyes are so cool! Did you ever consider naming him Bowie or Ziggy before settling on Matisse — which is also a very cool name, of course?

You mean Jonesy adopted you  Congratulations! I am happy that both kitties have brought such joy into your life

Thanks. No, we never thought of Bowie or Ziggy, although those would be perfect names. All of our previous pets have been named after designers or artists (Gucci, Bulgari, Versace), because of my fashionista wife :slightly_smiling_face:

Mittens had a similar excuse . . .

That’s why the roomate is usually ‘unavailable’ after 8 pm. That is prime time for tv viewing and cat holding.

I woke up to “little kitteh snores”* this morning which turned into snorts and louder exhales. Dream on, my boy.

*Thank you, @linguafood for the phrase😊

Oh, I can take no credit for that, but you are welcome

This is less than ten minutes after I gave Tilly some turkey. Settled in for her nap.

We have two cats (both of which I think of as “the new cat,” because though we’ve had Tilly 3 years, our previous cats lived to 17 and 21), and Gomez Addams has lately gotten into the habit of curling up next to my wife’s head on a strawberry throw pillow sometime in the night. I don’t think I’m cleared to post photos, but they are adorable.

Tilly at some point realized I tend to wake up around 3 before falling back asleep, and consequently comes into the bedroom around 3 and head butts me until I pet her. Sometimes I’m already awake … often I am not.

Our late monkey boy rarely slept in our bed, but he would always come visit me in the morning for cuddles. I still miss him dearly (and he only made it to 11 :frowning:). His predecessor, the Dude loved to sleep ON me — my legs, the small of my back, my back… he was a real momma’s boy

These two hellions are up to to much shit at night to leave the door open. Nope. But I appreciate Tiny Jake curling up next to me after his ‘second breakfast’ at 10:30am :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

2025, the year that keeps on giving… if “giving” means piling on the shit in form of MOAR medical bills. Jake had his first vet visit today, where we learned that he is suffering from autoimmune gingivitis. He’s on a 10-day run of antibiotics for now, but it is very likely that he will have to have all of his teeth extracted. JFC I really know how to pick 'em, don’t I?

He also has an ear infection, so we get to give him 5-6 drops in his right ear once a day. And just to be sure he doesn’t have feline leukemia they tested him for it today. He initially tested negative. So, fingers crossed the meds help the boy get better & we can hold off on any extractions for now.

Yikes. And next week, Jonesy is due for his vet visit.

I should probably start looking for a 5th job…

My Darcy thinks T-Day turkey beats her regular roasted chicken diet.

I hear you. My little guy went through very expensive allergy treatment with a specialist, then he developed a heart murmur, had an echo and sees a cardiologist. All are ongoing.
